Ooooo, or have her be undercover the whole time only to find out after 7 years onboard, she's been sabotaging the ship the whole time. She was brilliant. Love her. Such a baddie.
That could have made for some cool drama, particularly with the Maquis crewmates dealing with her. It could have been quite a character portrayal; however she would have had to be less manipulative, less evil, because even when in disguise she was something of a troublemaker. If she continued, no one would trust her and she'd probably just want to leave anyway....
But to make her a more sympathetic character...that would be dramatic.
Martha Hackett just looks wicked!
I mean that as every bit of a compliment to the actress.
Knowing how well she made Seska so evil, I wouldn't want to picture the character any other way.
Sorry.![]()
I sure learned a lot from her.
I've wondered occasially how the show would have been different if Seska had been revealed to be a Cardassian in disguise but not a collaborator, instead remaining on the ship.
I sure learned a lot from her.
I thought Seska was a great villain and it was shame they couldn't keep her around a bit longer.
the character was way too stereotypical.
How could a Cardassian join Star Fleet except in disguise? Why would a Cardassian be in disguise on the ship for any *other* reason than espionage?
When it comes to Star Trek, all the villains (at least all the major ones) are stereotypical and cliched. I'm trying to think of one that isn't and I'm coming up a cropper. So you just have to go with what's good, I guess.
Didn't most Cardassians act this way? When it comes to Star Trek, all the villains (at least all the major ones) are stereotypical and cliched. I'm trying to think of one that isn't and I'm coming up a cropper. So you just have to go with what's good, I guess.
Eh, maybe so. I guess part of my annoyance with Seska is that it seemed to me like the writers wanted her to be a female Gul Dukat - a schemer who was mainly acting out of self-interest but was also able to work with others when it suited her. And, in that case, Dukat did it better. But that's merely my own impression, and perhaps any similarities between the two were just coincidence.
