Has it ever been mentioned what species he/she is? Where was the character introduced?

T'rb was first mentioned in Twilight. He was identified as Bolian in Cathedral.

Sorry, I thought it was always known he was Bolian. I've never had any question about it in my mind, certainly.

My question is what department he's in. MG puts him in sciences, but I'm sure there's a Bolian Defiant crew member in Divided We Fall and Warpath (not to mention "The Adversary"), who's in security. Is that not T'rb also? Or is he someone else?

T'rb was a new sciences noncom, not a reinvention of any previously established character.
