Question about B5 "The Gathering" and Kosh (Spoilers for series)

This has ALWAYS bugged me about The Gathering and Kosh, how was an energy being, an order of magnitude more advanced than us corporeal beings, able to be poisoned by us lowly corporeal beings?

1.) The "hand" that Lyta saw that had the poison patch slapped on, first of all, Kosh has no hands in the sense that we saw! Does he? I mean, he is an energy being and all, but not a human shaped hand right? Or was the vision of the hand simply what Kosh wanted her to see.

2.) How could Kosh be poisoned at all by any kind of lowly corporeal poison. It just doesn't make sense. Unless he chose to fake it, maybe as a test to the humans and to Valen.

Per the man:
No, he wasn't faking it. Understand that their appearance as a being of light is only how they want to appear; they are life forms much the same as many others, and can be poisoned if one knows the right combination of substances.

Sheridan held Kosh's "hands" in The Fall of Night. However, he was out of his encounter suit at that point.

Maybe the Minbari knew what hurts a Vorlon.

Weeelllll ... Them thar's spoilers, ya see.

Kosh and Sinclair (present) don't know each other, it's true. However, Kosh does know Sinclair, and everything Sinclair knows. In War Without End, Sinclair becomes Valen, a friend to the Vorlons, a thousand years in the past. Kosh knows he has to be "poisoned" but will live, because Sinclair/Valen has already lived through it. He can't risk altering the timeline and potentially losing Valen.
