I'm not a reader of these particular comics, so Quasar doesn't mean anything to me. Also, I'm not familiar with Kevin Pennington, so I googled him. What do you guys think?
Yum. Seriously, he brings the pretty. No idea if he can act (besides, Nathan Fillion's in it, so I'll be there), but I'll be watching Pennington, for sure.
Thank you for your answer.![]()
Seems to me that Quasar sounds like a nice guy, someone that I would like to meet in real life, but I'm not quite sure that being nice makes for compelling fictional characters.
I don't know. The comics I read are full of pacifists and nice people, and none of them come off as bland as Quasar. And anyway, a work of art should stand on its own. If the main reason for liking a character is that all the other characters around him are two-dimensional jerks, maybe you should switch to a more challenging and more entertaining form of entertainment.I disagree. The fact that he was nice and was a pacifist made him an interesting read when contrasted against just about every other comic.
Like whatever you want. Hey, I'm not telling you what you should read or watch, but maybe if you were reading Love & Rockets or Acme Novelty Library instead of Decimation or War of Kings, you wouldn't be so disappointed with the characters you're reading about.^ Like Star Trek?
That goes without saying, I'm speaking for myself. It's mostly a matter of taste of course. I love vanilla ice cream.I think it's pretty clear that not everyone finds Quasar to be a "bland" character, as you describe him, TMM.
^Yeah, he died during Annihilation, but a group of intrepid Quasar fans banded together and started a letter-writing campaign (including yours truly) and several of them ordered a cake to be delivered to Bill Rosemann of Marvel Comics.
