Anyone else going to a midnight showing tonight? I'll be at the Boston Fenway theater! If so, are you going for the trailer, James Bond, or both? For what it's worth, I'm definitely going for both.

Anyway, I'm super excited and just wanted to share! STAR TREK! :bolian:

When I see QoS, it will be because I have an interest in seeing a new Bond movie. The fact that a trailer for a movie from the guy that did Alias, Lost, and Mission Impossible 3 is irrelevant.

No interest in James Bond from me, and I just said in another thread I've gotten too old and stodgy to pay ten bucks just to walk out of a movie after the trailers. I'll wait 'til Monday.

Well as I said in another post I was looking forward to QoS (which actually means turkey sandwich in Klingon) before learning the trailer would be attached. Won't be midnight but tomorrow morning before I head to work.

Those of you who go to see Quantum of Solace will find something missing.
I just saw an interview with the director on TVGuide channel. Nowhere in the movie will you hear the iconic line, "Bond, James Bond." He edited it out.

Anybody here in Portland, OR going to the midnight showing? Any trek fans in Portland at all?... (*Cricket sound effect*) ...... Alrighty then...

Yeah, I'm in Portland, but I go to work at 7am, so the last midnight show I attended was probably back in the 90s ... I'll probably see it Sunday morning, be the first thing I've seen in a theater since ... geez, I don't even remember. Oh yeah, saw DARK KNIGHT once, and I saw THE FOUNTAIN and X3 a few years ago ... man, I must not get out much.

when i moved up here there were TONS of movie revival houses in this area, but in the last few years, catching 2001 and STRANGELOVE and TOUCH OF EVIL and WRATH OF KHAN and MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE in theaters were the exceptions ... maybe I only like to see movies I already know I like?

I would, but I gotta work at 7am tomorrow so I'll probably see it afterwards. But, definetly, I'm going. I hope the trailer will be worth it :) And the movie!

People who see the movie early and catch the trailer, do report! I'd like to hear the opinions of this board about it.

I'm planning on catching QoS on Saturday, but I don't wanna wait. *taps foot*

No midnight shows here but am seeing Quantum with the first showing of the day tomorrow.

I used to be from Portland but have since transported...er transplanted (sorry, bad pun) to Boston. Although, it's been my experience that there's a disproportionately large number of Trek fans in PDX. And, I, too, love the revival movie theaters. The Brattle in Boston often gets 35mm prints of old stuff like Hitchcock and it's teh awesomeness.

I'll be posting as soon as I get home! :)

JUST as a suggestion to those going to the Bond showings.

1.) Congrats.

2.) Just an idea, but if anyone was planning just to stay for the trailer and then leave during Bond.. if you don't have anything to do for the next couple of hours or have to be anywhere, I might recommend just hanging out and watching the whole film regardless. Some Bond fans might get a little upset if you are getting up and leaving before the new movie starts. I would think Star Trek fans would be as well if this happened at the new movie. I know some of the Bond fans might be aware of the Trekkies in the audience. As a fanbase where "Give it a chance" is the new tagline, out of courtesy to the Bond fans I would return this courtesy to them.

So, give the new Bond a chance as well, even if you haven't been in to Bond before, you may like it! And hey, you might get more value for your dollar and the Bond/Mainstream fans may just return the courtesy to us and Star Trek this summer!

Not to be preachy, but just some thought for everyone of course. Your call though. I know if I had the opportunity to do this I would too!

I am actually going for Bond. I've never been a James Bond fan, but I recently saw Casino Royale and loved it, so I'm interested in the movie, and the trailer is a nice bonus. I've been to one other midnight showing (Dark Knight), and thought is was a different and fun experience, so when I saw that QoS was having one, I figured it would be fun to get my second midnight showing in.
