"Q Are Cordially Invited"

The real story of Picard and Crusher's wedding? With Q as best man? Sounds intriguing, but one would have to wonder why no mention was made of it in Q & A.

The wedding of Captain Jean-Luc Picard to Doctor Beverly Crusher was a small, private affair overseen by the mayor of La Barre, France, and witnessed by the groom’s sister-in-law and the mayor’s wife. At least, that’s what the happy couple always told their friends. On the anniversary of that blessed day, however, Worf and Geordi La Forge manage to coax the real story out of the pair, to discover a tale of mythical treasure and a lost civilization in the Delta Quadrant. It all begins when the omnipotent being Q crashes the festivities, declaring himself best man and bringing along an unwilling guest as a surprise for the groom.

Anyone want to take bets on who the unwilling guest is?
I'm betting it's Vash, who has history with Q after all.

Sounds like it will be a fun story. BTW it seems that the title is actually Q are Cordially Uninvited... (Oops looks like Startrek.com has it wrong, but that's how the title is on the "cover" and the Simon & Schuster site, Amazon, etc.) so will have to see what that means, lol.

Is this e-book only or will there be a paperback?

I was on Barnes & Noble, and I believe it's only being offered as an e-book.

The original e-books are novellas, too short to be published individually as paperbacks. It's possible they may eventually be collected in trade paperback, but it's been several years since we've seen a TPB reprint of Trek e-books.

We're still waiting for the final Corps of Engineers collection, Slings and Arrows, and what I hope will be The Struggle Within and The Stuff of Dreams released together, since both are TNG-relaunch stories featuring the Kinshaya.

Ah, got it. Thanks for the info.

By the way, I'm currently reading James Doohan's autobiography, but I got "Ex Machina" lined up.

I always thought the immediate post-V'Ger novel was a natural and always thought I should take a stab at writing one, and never got around to it.

I'm glad one got made. I'll let you know what I think.

"...Cordially Uninvited..." just appeared on my Kindle a bit ago (1AM CDT), ha, a nice "surprise" (what, it's Oct. 6th already?!); well looking forward to reading it, soon hopefully, lol.

Because it hadn't happened yet in Q & A. Picard and Crusher got married between Before Dishonor and Greater Than the Sum.

So I know that this book has only just come out so I know there won't be much in the way of details, but I am aware that the "bulk" of the story would take place between Before Dishonor and Greater Than The Sum but from the blurb it says:
On the anniversary of that blessed day, however, Worf and Geordi La Forge manage to coax the real story out of the pair

So is there anything in there that will "spoil future events" (I have only read the cold equations trilogy post Destiny).

Only asking as I am about 60% through Sword of Damocles and am reading all books post Nemesis and Greater than the Sum would be next on my list?

That's why it's time for another one :)

I just read it last night, and there's nothing in the framing story that seemed like a spoiler. The only "present day" action is in and out over the course of a half-dozen pages or so. If even that.
