Public Resource Enterprise.

The thing is- before each restoration, or conservation treatment (which SHOULD have been done in this case as opposed to its "restoration"), requires a comprehensive condition assesment and proposed treatment report. EVERY reputable institution will do that. The Smithsonian must have an extensive file on this artifact. And there is really no reason why this information can not be published (after potential copyright issues are addressed of course) in some form or another- But there should be extensive files.

The Smithsonian is in their own little world. I only go warp factor 2.5 compared to their 8... That leaves me in the space dust behind them. I'd be luck if anyone of significance even responded to my e-mail.

Though it won't hurt to try to ask around. And I do love the Enterprise!

Very good. Please keep us posted on any success you might have. I'm sure I'm not the only one here that wishes you measured success at the very least.

Hell, most of us are only operating on high impulse, with a few well placed wormholes along the way so's we don't get completely lost.

Okay- I e-mailed a friend from a museum in Ottawa to see if she has any contacts there.

And I feel like I'm going off topic for this thread- so if I hear anything, you will all be the first to know. Well, I'll probably tell my fiancee' first... And my dog. My fish.

No! You are not off topic. If you can get any info, that's what this thread was and is about! Please, keep us posted.

I would think that the Enterprise Project would be part of a larger Project where they Digitize via 3d Laser scanner many of the Smithsonians Exhibits both on the floor and in storage. :)

I was thinking of trying to do the same thing we are doing with the Refit thread. Dan is also working on a cut-away and an Enterorise D. I also have data for the Enterprise E. Anyone who wants to help, let me know.

OK, here's a very nice shuttlebay, from Ron Caudillo. I'll have more refs and info soon.

Nice. Who is this person? And is this based on the model or what it looks like or what fits in the ship?

He's Ron Caudillo. It's based on Star Trek references, screen caps, Star Trek magazine stuff, just a collection of things. It's the basis for what will be inside my model and it's supposed to fit into the Enterprise.

OK, here's a set of TOS prints that Oyl Pslyk worked up some time ago. I made several .jpgs and knitted them together, no sooner did I get this done than he had a newer version ready. I'll get that up later. Also, Oyl's put together a data base of facts, so we should be able to get this moving along. WHOOT! I love it when a plan comes together. Look forward to set of NX-01, Ent-B, Ent-D, Ent-E and other prints, all for free and all accurate. Please notice that the copyright info is included in this shot.

Keep on Trekkin!

Alas not. Although Google's new album thingy seems to support larger images. 20MB! Yikes!
