Puberty: Part Deux?

Uhhhh...

So, in short, all those things that they tell you about puberty (aside from growth spurts and, uh, weird hair) never really happened to me. I never started sweating more. I didn't have body odor. I never had a noticeable sex drive.

...until now?

I don't know, but the last couple months I have been stinky and horny like never before. I've also started sweating a lot more. I don't know what's going on. Nothing in my diet has really changed. The only thing I've really been doing differently is weight-lifting a lot harder than normal. I know weight-lifting can increase testosterone levels, but this is ridiculous.

I also think I'm putting out pheromones because random girls keep hitting on me.

Am I going through puberty again? I could have sworn I was done. I mean, I've been growing a beard since I was 14!

I notice it happening to me off and on. Though actually I notice I sweat and stink less when I'm working out a lot, I definitely get a boost to my already annoyingly high sex drive.

It's definitely the testosterone. As for body odor and sweating, everyone can be affected regardless of age or sex, which is why it's important to have proper hygiene. I've been using a deodorant soap (like Dial) or body wash, keeping me fresh and clean; this is in addition to the Degree body spray and an anti-perspirant stick I use after a shower. :)

How old are you?

Education places a lot of emphasis on puberty as you go through it. No one really bothers to tell you that body changes actually occur your whole life. For example, it wasn't until I was about twenty six that my relatively hairy body suddenly became even hairier. And my normally smooth back suddenly grew hair. About 27 I started growing hair on my ears. Then my metabolism dropped and it became really easy for me to gain weight. At 30, I needed a nose hair trimmer. I could go on, but I don't want to frighten you. :) To paraphrase Dana Gould, you have only to look at all of your relatives to see what unbelievably bizarre things nature and aging has in store for you.

I also think I'm putting out pheromones because random girls keep hitting on me.

I also got hit on a lot in my late twenties. So I guess there is an upside.

Yeah, I knew that, but this has all happened very suddenly. The sex drive is the weirdest thing. To go from being more or less asexual to a huge horny mess at 25 is very strange.

I'm certainly not complaining about this part, but it's also VERY sudden. Like...3 girls in the last week, when my average used to be about 1 every year.

I'll be 25 in April.

Your brain is almost fully developed!
NEVER!

Body changes can occur any time in your life, and it can occur at different times for different people. I went through my easily smelly phase back when I was 14-16. I would have to shower all the time to keep smelling fresh. Now, I tend to smell fine no matter what I do. Luckily, I had gotten in the habit of showering often so it doesn't matter either way
Then facial hair, I would get slight shadowing on my upper lip and a fuzzy chin all through high school, but I never really had to shave. Then, I hit college and now I get hair all over my face. However, it still grows slow, I'm just about 21 and I still only have to shave once every 2-3 weeks.
Girls hitting on you? Maybe it's because you're good looking?
As for a sex drive... Let's not go there... Mine is way overactive. That's when I begin to dislike the boy to girl ratio of my school... 1 guy for every 8 girls... a straight guys dream... :(
But anyways, yeah, I wouldn't worry about it, so some things have taken their time to start changing, it's not a second puberty, it's just your body doing it's thing.

If you figure out what caused it, let me know. I'm getting tired of the whole asexual thing, but it's been years since I was seriously attracted to anyone.

Well, it's ridiculous. I feel like I have lots of sex to catch up on!

I actually thought of you while writing this thread. I'll let you know if I discover anything.
