PSN down thread

^^Too much coffee I'm afraid, time for bed.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my PSN account to keep,
If its hacked before I wake,
I pray the devil the hackers to take.

Amen.

I hope everyone realises that the PSN store is going to go straight back down again, when 77 million people rush to download their free games at the same time.

I have a sneaking suspicion they might roll it out region to region the same ay they brought the PSN back.

Of course 77 million users trying to access the store at one point might just be the catalyst that nudges it over into becoming self-aware.

True, but the multiple password requests caused them problems, so god knows what a few million people downloading games that are a number of gigabytes in size will do.

"I'm afraid I can't let you download that game, Dave."

^^

But that might have some actual benefits..

H&T "Right a quick game at Heavy rain"

PS3 "I'm sorry H&T, i cant do that, you have not had any exercise today, now go do 30 Min's on the Gazelle and them we will talk"

H&T "What!!!....I'm the boss here OK you do what i say"

PS3 "Unless you want me to display at random pics from your fave website "chunky asses and cake" to your family and friends i suggest you comply".

H&T (Slips on trainers and starts workout quietly).

Could we be about to enter the Forbin project for real.

I just ordered EA Sports Active 2, so I can do my workout with my PS3, so it can't pull that shit with me.

Sony has notified its developer and publisher partners that the PlayStation Store is scheduled to relaunch next Tuesday, May 24, according to a memo obtained by Gamasutra. In the message, PSN content manager Jack Osorno details plans to update the Store twice weekly -- on Tuesdays and Fridays -- for two weeks in order to speed up the release of content that's been delayed due to the outage.

Next Tuesday's update will include content originally scheduled to be released on April 26, while an update on Friday the 27th will bring releases previously planned for May 3. Updates on May 31 and June 3 will comprise the remaining content intended to be published throughout the rest of May. By the regularly scheduled June 7 update, the Store is expected to be up to date.

"If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule," Osorno notes. "Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis." (The memo does not address any other kind of adjustment that might be made to appease concerns.)

While the launch date for the "Customer Appreciation Program" wasn't noted (this was a memo to devs and pubs, remember?), the choice of two free games is expected to be made available "shortly after PlayStation Store is restored," for a limited time, according to an announcement earlier this week

I currently can't even get my password reset because the site they link you to in the email is down for maintenance. So, I'm still waiting for them to fix that loophole before I can continue.

PSN has become a target for hackers (crackers?) now, and I'll be surprised if this is the last incident we hear of.

It also seems that the free PS+ time has been added to accounts. I just checked my Services List and my subscription renewal date is now September 17th, rather than July 19th.

^^That's not fair, i want that, i hate Sony, i deserve that as well, I'm not playing any more, I'm special....(Goes off in a huff).

And before you ask, Yes, i have just been on the official PS3 forums.

I had no idea so many PS3 owners were in the 4 to 8 age group judging by some of the comments over there..:lol:

I avoid those forums. They seem to be populated largely by idiots.

I'm assuming non-subscribers to PS+ will have to wait til the store is back to redeem their 30-day subscription.

PSN will be down for maintenance in the UK between 16:00 and 00:00 today. Hopefully they're readying it for the return of the store.
I'm so glad I have an UK account - German PSN accounts get shafted in terms of games I'm actually interested in playing.
For the German market, InFamous and Dead Nation will be replace with Super Stardust HD and Hustle Kings in the selection of PS3 games.
For the German market, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation will be replaced with Everybody’s Golf 2 and Buzz Junior Jungle Party in the selection of PSP games.
