Prometheus: Ridley Scott returns to Sci-Fi

Biologically engineered weapons are different than aliens even if they are created by so called gods like Prometheus. Their purpose being ultimately unkown though other than what they are to Humanity - killing machines.

Nothing to concretely tie them together, nothing to prevent it either.
There are a few elements from the Alien franchise in the Blade Runner movie, but those are more like inside jokes, added by the art department (similar to how there's a Millennium Falcon in Starship Troopers).

They are inside jokes right up until someone figures they can make money out of the combination.

March 17th can't get here soon enough!

As much as I find the idea of a trailer for a trailer ridiculous, I couldn't help watching it.
I hope they change the music to something more ominous like in the teaser, but otherwise it looks great.

It's all calculated marketing to keep Prometheus in the blogs, forums, news From December until June.
I think the marketing departments know if they release a teaser they can build buzz and keep articles and blogs and their product they are hawking in the news, blogosphere, fan forums, and other forums such as their product's Facebook page buzzing with discussion and chatter. The old saying about there is no such thing as bad press.
Well if the first teaser trailer was leaked in December (6 months before the release)

Re: Full Trailer Preview teaser

Is that an Alien at 14 seconds? Or some pissed off crewmember?

Most likely the mutated crewmember

The marketing people for Disney/John Carter should take notes on how to actually market a movie and make it highly anticipating by watching from Fox/Ridley Scott. They are doing everything right.

Yup.

Having a great director revisit one of his great works is a big plus, too. Looking forward to this and hoping it pans out.

Even though when I watched the first Alien I wasn't that impressed, and I don't think I've never made it through Blade Runner, I am actually really excited for this. I've actually been thinking about try Alien and BR again, I last watched them years ago, and my tastes have changed alot in that time.

Even if I didn't know this was a Ridley Scott prequel to Alien, I'd still find the imagery here lightyears more cool and exciting than anything I saw in the drab JC trailers.

And a much longer one (over 2 minutes) will be released live today at Wondercon with a Q&A with Ridley Scott and the trailer can be seen live at AMC.com streaming.
