Programmable Matter

How do you maintain programmable antimatter in a matter region?
Probably by programming the "Programmable Anti-Matter" to emit/project a Electrical Field of the correct "Opposite Charge" since the difference between Anti-Matter & Normal-Matter is:
"The key difference between matter and antimatter is that matter and antimatter have opposite electrical charges."

Since the Galactic Barrier is composed of "Negative Energies", they know what type of Electric Field Charge to project to create the Magnetic Repulsion effect since the Galactic Barrier is largely composed of Negative Energy.

"Programmable Anti-Matter" must be a very specialized form of "Programmable Matter" since they need to apply it to the hull of the vessel before leaving, ergo UFP / StarFleet generally don't leave it pre-applied to most hull surfaces since it's a specialized tool.

I would say Programmable matter functions like replicator in reverse. Where as replicator works on fixed form of a specific item, Programmable matter has a memory of programs to faciliatate what it makes. Bear in mind... In 3rd Season Sahil owned a programmable matter bed which apparently is as comfortable as any normal bed?

Does the matter incorporate a replicator to simulate textures or does it feel like the smooth glass feeling described by Owosekun; regardless of what it turns into. Or a micro holoemitter capable simulating texture as a holodeck would.

Edit: Images converted to links again. Stop posting images you don't own and are not hosting!

LazyReader, you need to use a free online image host instead of hotlinking images from various websites. I use Imgur myself and there are a number of others. But you can upload images to one and then post them that way.

I'd treat Programmable Matter to be closer to self assembling Lego Pieces.

It seems it works similar to a replicator, but it doesn't use a replicator as such...
However, the materials in the 32nd century are seemingly magnetic or make extensive use of magentic fields... or just certain sections of them are, which basically repel the table or even a bed from the floor and keep it in mid air (this can already be done in reality where two magnets are effectively repelling each other and you don't need to add energy to maintain the magnetic repulsion between the two objects (because the magnetic force between the magnets already does that).

However I would argue that there could be 'some' use of forcefields when programmable matter is initially assembling something... or highly refined tractor beams (or both) just to keep non magnetically charged bits in place while the thing is assembled... which takes a few seconds.

@LazyReader, I've asked you politely to stop randomly hotlinking images when you want to use them in a thread. From the board rules, located here:

- Don't hotlink. If you're posting a picture, host it on your own site/Photobucket, whatever. DON'T just link to another site. They hate that.

If you want to post images, you need to use an online host (typically free, like Imgur) or your own webspace to do it. Since you have a habit of doing this, and you deliberately edited the post after I removed the images (I also sent you a PM about this, but have yet to see a response), I'm giving you an infraction for spamming. Comments via PM or MA.
