Probably next year. It was teased so I imagine it will be part of round two of merchandising, with the Protostar taking the Enterprise slot from round one.

I think the Prodigy line is separate from the other line.

Probably not in terms of budgeting and release.

FWIW the Zero action figure is up on Amazon. It’s showing out of stock right now but it looks like it was in stock at one point.

This same thing happened with the “Universe” line where a few popped up on Amazon a few weeks before they hit the shelves.

Interesting delays as they are supposed to have codes for unlockables in the Supernova game.

I played the game and there is indeed a place to put in toy codes. I'm not sure what they unlock.

It's a shame that Prodigy isn't marketed better. You can 100% the game long before the toys come out so you will likely have uninstalled it by the time you get a toy. The episodes come out at an inopportune time of night online and it takes a long time before they're aired on Nickelodeon. The game is too expensive for a lot of kids.

It's like there is great artistic talent but marketing just doesn't want them to succeed in their goal of creating a new generation of Trekkies.

Damn supply chain issues. Hopefully those are ironed out for smooth release. They can package it with any DVD releases for Season 1.

I saw a post about this on Tumblr referencing a TrekCore tweet saying: “Playmates Toys has delayed the release of their Star Trek Prodigy 'Hologram Janeway' figure; some retailers are cancelling preorders as a result. No new date has been shared by the company for when Janeway (or Rok-Tahk, or other PRODIGY toys) will be available.”

I am unaware how trusted TrekCore is as a source but thought I would share.

Not terribly good news. One doesn't get the impression that P+ and/or Nickelodeon cares much about marketing/merchandising of Prodigy.

Here's one YT channel that had correspondence from Entertainment Earth.

Not much more details but at least presents some text of the email contact.

Can Star Trek manage to sell toys.
    Just some, please?
Won't they think of the children they could recruit into fandom and whose parents' money they could funnel into their coffers?

No. They can't. Hasbro can barely manage Star Wars some days. There's no confidence in the toy market.

It's just my opinion now, but from what I've seen, Star Trek toys can no longer really sell at retail stores anymore. The rising costs of manufacturing has priced many action figures in general beyond what casual shoppers are willing to buy these days. This causes retail stores to think "oh, this doesn't sell" and shrink both shelf space and their overall inventory/orders for this new Trek toysline. Playmates can produce as many Trek figures, ships, and roleplay accessories as they want, but I think only a fraction will ever show up at a brick & mortar store. It probably will be a case that most of us will have to go to online stores. Sure, there will be exceptions and some of us will get lucky by being at the right store at the right time, but I don't think that will be the case for most of us, IMO.

If Star Wars is having trouble moving product at the retail level, then you know it's an even worse for Trek...
