FWIW, the Starfleet Corps of Engineers novella Foundations features Starfleet experimenting with Kelvan technology on one USS Chandley, with the Kelvans' cooperation. There are several unnamed Kelvan background characters there, suggesting at least one further ship arrived from the doomed neighboring galaxy and again failed to conquer the Milky Way...
