LOL! I can vouch for that, I went to my sister-in-law's wedding to a Cork man, and barely understood one word in three from the speeches, and I was living in NI at the time so was reasonably familiar with most accents on the island.I suspect you're thinking of a Dublin, or more specifically a D4 accent, I find it hard to imagine you would understand a strong Kerry or Cork accent.
Probably, I'm not sure of the specifics,
it's just the one most none Irish think of as an "Irish accent",
the ones that people like Colin Farrel and Saoirse Ronan have.

I'm honestly very sorry, I didn't mean to upset anyone.

I think he did (after returning to his homeworld). I mean, this is Star Trek. Every decent person deserves a happy end.But seriously, did that guy find his son? I need to know.
You did nothing wrong, imo.
Back on topic: I've yet to check these books out. I understand that they take place in the current 24th century novel continuity, right? How tightly are they intertwined? Does it feel like a crossover with the other series, or does it pretty much go its own way?
Your last post came across as pretty angry to me.You haven't upset me, nor anyone else I gather and I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.

They go very much their own way, although certain events in the current novel continuity are mentioned. I think that some people here around might be more helpful with the continuity (what to read first and in what sequence).
Cool. I'm caught up with the newer books, but hearing that these books go their own way makes them even more interesting to me.
"Prometheus" takes place after "The Fall" and just before "Takedown". But it's true: We explore our own small region of the Federation/Klingon border. http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Lembatta_ClusterI think that some people here around might be more helpful with the continuity (what to read first and in what sequence).

Well, see, he types with an Irish accent. That may be where the misunderstanding lies.
