Captain
Captain
Everyone needs someone to confide in, especially someone in command like Captain Kirk. We see several episodes where Kirk confides in McCoy whenever he is conflicted about what is happening. As someone in command can't talk to the crew about what is bothering him. Spock has to remind him of that in "Enemy Within."

I just wondered if Kirk ever confided in Spock.

What happened after "Amok Time?" I mean what do you say to someone who you almost killed? Even if you weren't in your right mind.

Does anyone else ever wonder what happened after a specific scene from TOS?

Once Spock came down off that pon farr high, he probably never said a word about it to Kirk ever again. Probably wouldn't need to, either; Kirk would understand that it's all part of the ritual.

According to TMOST and/or the writer's guide (if I'm remembering correctly), McCoy and Scotty were supposed to be pretty close friends and drinking pals, though we never saw a lot of that onscreen, unfortunately. Considering that they were around the same age (mid 40's) and probably two of the oldest members of the crew, it makes sense. I just turned 50 this year, and find it more and more difficult to be around most of the twenty-somethings that I work with.

That's what fanfiction is for.

exactly :bolian: What is your fave fan fic?
In general, TOS and Voyager. I don't want to be too specific, since one never knows when one of the pro authors (those who write the novels) will wander by (we're not supposed to give them story ideas).

I enjoy the stories where people pick up on little scenes that suggest more is going on than we get to see on-screen. And sometimes a fanfic author will really delve into characters we don't get to know all that well otherwise.

Great missing scenes from Star Trek episodes...

1. Scotty playing the bagpipes at Dr. Elizabeth Dehner's and Lee Kelso's funeral.
2. Spock sneaking in Kirk's cabin to give him a mind-meld after the death of Edith Keeler... "Forget."
3. Spock replying to McCoy the doctor's claim that "medical men are trained in logic" with, "Doctor, your idea of logic is a little bird tweeting in the meadow."
4. Spock telling Kirk, "I assume your log will show that Commodore Decker died in the line of duty, but will omit that he was loonier than Mr. Scott is after drinking an entire bottle of Aldebaran whiskey."
5. Spock telling Kirk, "Captain, I would be most appreciative if you stop addressing me as 'Spocko.' In Vulcan, 'Spocko' translates roughly to 'old turd.'
6. Kirk asking Deela, "do we have time for another visit to my quarters?"

I can think of more.....

Well, that would certainly explain this "Antonia" character in the Generations movie. There's no way in hell that Kirk's Nexus dream wouldn't have included Edith.

But if Kirk believed he was still a real human while in the Nexus then he would remember that Edith Keeler died back in the twentieth century so wouldn't want to resurrect her!

Why wouldn't he? The Nexus granted people their fondest wishes, so that's why Picard ended up at a Christmas party with a family he never had. I have trouble believing that Kirk's fondest wish would be to perpetually chop wood and make breakfast for some woman invented for the purpose of that movie, and we'd never heard of her before.

The most frustrating thing is that we never see Antonia close up ... they could have inserted the name of any previous love interest and it still would have worked. General audiences wouldn't have known whether the name had any significance or not, but it would have made the movie a bit easier (just a tiny bit) to swallow for Trek fans.
