Prince Philip Has Died

My Grandfather was an RCMP officer and in 1954, he was selected among others officers, to escort Prince Philip on a solo trip to Canada.

RIP. It feels like the end of an era.

Newsflash, this just in: Prince Phillip is still dead!

Joking at news coverage aside this is still poignant news, as completely inevitable as it was, considering his exceptionally advanced age and long stay in hospital (most likely going home on palliative care after his worsening heart condition was a foregone conclusion).

Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

As my grandfather used to say, he used all of the runway. RIP, Prince Philip.

I am not a big fan of royalty and monarchical institutions, but he was a WW2 combat veteran, was devoted to carrying out his role, and continued in public duties in to his mid-90s, and I respect him for that.

Many of us grew up knowing people of that generation. With the death of my grandmother two weeks ago, all the people I knew personally who lived through the Depression and WW2 times are gone, so maybe I am more sensitive that usual, but I was really sorry to hear about the death Philip.

A fucking parasite, like the rest of the Royals, and a racist to boot
The faux grief being extended for this guy is beyond belief.
The BBC have been ramming his death down our throats on every channel for two days now.
