Primeval Series 3 (Spoilers)

Yeah, this week's episode was a bit poor compared to last week's.

I didn't think much of the creature to be honest, and I thought there were some glaring errors in judgement on behalf of the team; things like leaving one person alone to guard the house, no armed response sent with them, or even waiting nearby. I'm guessing they left G.I Joe at the Arc because they needed someone to plug clone-cleaner when he tried to rob Cutter's underpants. Still seemed a bit out of place that he'd be left behind while the scooby gang got to go and investigate the old abandoned fairground... erm, I mean, house.
I also thought, being as she is now part of the team, that the new girl would have been briefed about Helen, which would have included photos, just in case of a scenario like the one that happened this week. I was under the impression that they'd dropped the character stupidity at the end of series 1.

Oh well, at least next week's looks decent.

And what's the deal with Not. Claudia.? She seems to be turning back into the Claudia character again, both in looks and attitude. Is this something that's supposed to happening in the series, or did Jenny not test well with the audiences, so they're trying to retcon her back into her original character?

I don't know, she still seems to be wearing frilly tops and stuff, but dressing a bit more appropriately. I think they're trying to turn her back in to a love interest for Cutter, without undoing the who changed timeline thing.

It's weird. The way she looked and acted in this latest episode was almost exactly akin to Claudia from series 1. In fact, you probably could have shown me a clip of her from this week, next to a clip from S1, and I bet I'd hardly notice the difference.

ive noticed that to, but I liked her more in S1, so im not objecting

Has anyone actually mentioned her name in the last 2 episodes? Apart from Cutter teasing her with the Claudia Brown remark?

Good question. I can't recall off hand.
No, neither can I... I have got both episodes on my media centre though, and I'm going to watch the second episode again soon, so I'll keep an ear out for it.

They called her Jenny in the second episode.

I was keeping an ear out.

She's not even wearing make up.

Not that that's a bad thing.

But Jenny was a Glamour puss and Claudia wasn't, which is how we told them apart.

For Claudia to come back, they'd have to dump the ARC set because that doesn't exist in her timeline.

she was called Jenny exactly once: when Abby phoned her about the 'change of plan' after the fairground bloke went inside.

Did anyone else know that episode 3 aired in Germany tonight? I was just looking at the episode guide on Wikipedia, and they have some pretty big spoilers for it in the summary. All I can say after having read it is "Wow".

Haven't read the wiki entry, but yeah I knew it was airing in Germany already. Primeval is a co-production between ITV and ProSieben. Seems like ITV let a lot of their shows air abroad first. I know Wire In The Blood and Afterlife both aired in Aus before here, too.

I wonder if SciFi will catch up to show this new season in the Fall. Probably not. But I can't wait to see some new stuff. I only glanced at some of the posts here not wanting to be too spoiled.

I think BBC America gets it exclusively for one year, then Sci-Fi/Syfy gets it. It's the opposite of the Doctor Who arrangement, where Sci-Fi gets it first, then BBC America can air it.

I heard some rumour about the ending, but I didnt think much of it, I assume Cutter dying is to do with Douglas quitting, but why destroy the arc, and over all its kinda a strange plot, Helen sees the future, decides she must kill Cutter, its kinda Heroes like.

The show is really amazing how it has built on the idea of the anomalies, and now uses other sci-fi themes, like cloning.

Anyone still watching?

I thought yesterday's episode was really good. We got to see Connor's anomaly-lock machine in action, they expanded a little on the other (military) government agency that's studying the anomalies, and the dinosaur was pretty well realised. Glad those two muppets from the press got squished, couldn't stand either of them. And Danny Quinn is certainly persistent.

Next weeks ep looks kind of interesting, although the spore-creature looks like something that would be more at home in a Doctor Who episode.

I just stated watching primeval i watched series 1-2 and whats been shown of season 3 last week.
Have to say i think there a problems with the writing at times' having people running round after monsters with out being properly armed is one of them.
And why is the PR women in charge surly there not that short staffed? saying that it is nice of her to go round in a pair of trousers instead of a belt.

And is it true the women who wants Ben millers job is his wife in real life.

Yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said there.
Is it looking like Jenny is gonna be killed too, from the preview of next week, to anyone else?
