Preview of TNG episode of Family Guy

one of the worst episodes ever made; literally only ONE star trek joke, involving killing off Denise Crosby almost immediately with a "warning shot"

the rest was just the TNG cast wandering around town

THIS from the guy who wrote the Trek TOS episode of Futurama?!

THe Meg Storyline was actually better than this!

I don't see much of a point having the TNG cast as the B-plot of this episode. :(

The atheist dog should've said that, according to Xian doctrine, dogs have no souls.

Stewie learns that our heroes aren't always everything we've made them up to be in our heads.

I found the idea of the cast of TNG showing up only to act like ordinary schlubs (actually, sort of like tourists) fairly entertaining, in an ironic manner.

That was a bit of a letdown, TNG-wise. All that build-up for a few weak B-story bits... and as a Christian I found the Meg/Brian A-story insultingly filled with ridiculous stereotypes.

I didn't enjoy the plot with Meg/Brian that much.
And most of the TNG stuff had already been previewed.

But there were some funny parts, and the ending was pretty cool too. So I'm kinda mixed.

i'm considering useing that brian worse than hilter pic as my new avatar so I can godwin a thread just by posting in it

I thought the whole episode was pretty funny, but TNG was severly underused.

Hwil Hwheaton.

This is why I don't like Family Guy. Jokes that go nowhere, or get too damn repetitive really fast, and all the build-up for that? The TNG parts were pretty good, but as a Catholic, I actually found that episode kinda offensive. I like South Park, but I know they are going to attack everyone, and not just the Catholic church. Seeing the scene where Brian just get's into the whole thing about atheism was a big turnoff for me. Also, what was up with the live bit with the two guys in bed. And I missed the ending dialog scene when Stewart was going to say what he shared with LeVar. Anyone remember the quote.

It was ok I guess, but man I wish this had been more about the TNG cast than what was led on. :(

It was a troll pencil-topper. He and Levar were going to pool their tickets to get a troll pencil topper which they would each have three days a week and alternate Sundays.

As a joke, it fell as flat as the rest of the episode. Oh listen... Captain Picard is saying childish stuff! How hi-larious.

What made you think they were taking on the Catholics in particular? I'm a protestant and was just as insulted... and Kirk Cameron is certainly not a Catholic.

Yeah, wasn't that great. It was better than the last 3 episodes though. The A-story was pretty lame, but I enjoyed the B-story more than I thought.

Loved Peter's grace, mainly because I played a crapload of Punch-Out way back and that brought me back. And yeah, I laughed at the TNG crew acting like kids.

Also, Hwil Hwheaton.

Also, GET TO THE CHOPPA.

Yeah, the Meg/Brian storyline pissed me off. I mean, i'm not a religious person by any means, but I can't stand people that preach to me about how Christians are stupid and there is no god. To me that's very hypocritical-- it's no different than preaching about how there is a god.

I didn't care for the cheap shot at the beginning about the death of William Shatner's wife..for a Star Trek fan I was surprised that Seth MacFarlane went there.

Agreed, But it was better than the A plot

Too much Patrick Hewes Stewart and not enough of the rest of them
They Killed off Denise too quickly

Here were my thoughts:

- Patrick Stewart got a lot more lines then everyone else
- I also wish Denise didn't get killed off so quickly (though her pointless death did mirror Tasha's pointless death on TNG)
- The Hwil Hweaton bit was the most funny part of the episode
- Gates McFadden didn't really sound like Gates McFadden, did she?
- I also didn't like the Meg storyline

Yeah it seemed to point towards all religion. It just hit me because I am Catholic and I assumed wrongly, and biasedly, I guess.
