I like how Spock doesn't want to play chess with Kirk this time around as well as how Mitchell and Kelso fit aboard the ship in regards to Chekov and Sulu...

This looks....really promising, actually! Will pick it up if I get the chance (probably from ebay, being in the UK, and no comic shops nearby).

Looking forward to seeing the artwork. I do like the cover for the initial issue (as shown). I wonder what the variant covers are like.
I haven't heard anything about a digital release yet. The only place I've been able to find Trek comics digitally is the Playstation Network's Comics on PSP, and the most recent stuff they have on there is Infestation 2, from April and that was a crossover, not just Trek. The most recent Trek only comic is Infestation: Star Trek #2 from February.
IDW website says the electronic version hits the same day as print.

I plan on picking up the individual issues for the iPad, then pick up the graphic novel collections later on. Less running to the store that way.
I think Ipad owners should hold off. I just bought it ($4.23) and the download failed then when I went back in it is trying to charge me again for the issue.
Disappointing to say the least.

Picked up issue #1 today. Like most things, it's not fanboy proof, but I thought it managed to be faithful both to the original TOS episode and Star Trek XI. It does play up on how things are different and the same this time out (I won't give away a spoiler, but there's one regarding Dr. Dehner's status on Enterprise).
