Predator (franchise)

Having long been a fan of the Predator film series, along with the various comic and prose tie-ins, I've started wondering where the franchise could go next. The ending of Predator 2, where the Predator leader gives Harrigan the flintlock pistol from the year 1715, seems to me like it might have been put in there to open the door to potential prequels, showing the Predators active in past eras. Personally, I'd like to see this option pursued in a future film, with the Predators in a medieval or Renaissance setting. Opinions?

I can't get past the fact that the Predator only woke up in the hottest years. Having them in temperate Earth is just a mockery.

I'm assuming that any future movie will be a sequel of sorts to Predators (thank God no more AvP nonsense). But yes, a Predator set in the past would be great. However, with the flop of Cowboys v Aliens, I suspect that the idea of hi-tech aliens v Earthlings from our past may have been kiboshed for the foreseeable future.

I always thought a "Predator 3" would be pretty awesome, with Predators invading Earth, and the story focussing on Schwarzenegger being the Commander of Earth's forces against the Predator invasion...having multiple stories in multiple major cities. The Earth is being decimated, but a secret about the Predators is found, and only a multi-front incursion against the invading Predators utilizing this secret can defeat them. The whole thing would be the ultimate sport for the Predators, and the ultimate fight for survival for Earth.

(Lame tag line warning. )

I think the best stroyline would be to follow a team of Men in Black (maybe lead by Adam Bladwin?) hunting down a Predator competing with a group of human big game hunters out to nab the ultimate prey AND a third party bunch of humans caught up in the middle

Oh, is that not what we were doing? How about The Doctor has to head off an invasion of Earth with nothing more than a Jelly Baby?

Truth be told, I always wondered what happened to Schwarzenegger's character after the first movie.

What do Michael Jackson and caviar have in common?

They both come on little white crackers.

Well we saw them in AVP in an earlier stage of Human history.

How about a Predator time travel movie?
