I didn't have an issue with that. Silent commentary that humans are technologically inferior to Yautja. I'm good with that notion.I'll admit, not having FTL for humans seems quite odd in a universe where they're going to several planets regularly, but it didn't dampen my enjoyment of this movie.

Yeah, I should say don't mistake the ones marked ✘ as being equal in my eyes. Requiem is a hell of a lot lower than AvP. The Predator is probably somewhere in the middle. Awful, but not Requiem-level awful. That's probably my view as well, though I probably like Predators more than you do and the first AVP is...ok, maybe I'm feeling generous because of how bad Requiem was!

I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
We all like different ones, so for the record my preferences:
Predator - ✓
Predator 2 - ✓
Alien vs Predator - ✘
Aliens vs Predator: Requiem - ✘
Predators - Mid. Technically a ✓ but only just barely.
The Predator - ✘
Prey - ✓
Predator: Killer of Killers - ✓
Predator: Badlands - ✓
How long are we supposed to assume it took for the W-Y ship of androids to get to Genna? But it does seem odd that humanity can go to a lot of different planets with sublight engines only.

65 freakin' years?
And how do they already know the Yautja language?
How long did that take?

I haven't watched Badlands yet, it's on the top of my list when I sign back up for Disney+ & Hulu next month, so I don't know the full context, but suddenly establishing that humans really makes no sense if this takes place in the same universe as the Alien movies. There has been a ton of interstellar travel in those movies, and I find it hard to believe that all of that was happening at sublight speeds. If this is a separate Predator universe that just happens to have it's own Weyland-Yutani, that might be a little easier to accept since up till now they've been set in the present, near future or past, and space travel has never really been an issue.I'll admit, not having FTL for humans seems quite odd in a universe where they're going to several planets regularly, but it didn't dampen my enjoyment of this movie.
Honestly, deep diving in Yautja culture was amazing, and after decades of comics and novels with that name for the species, it was thrilling to finally have it used on screen like this. I really hope this gets a sequel, perhaps one that could be a true AvP, since Weyland-Utani is now established as part of the Predator universe.
IMO, it doesn't.if this takes place in the same universe as the Alien movies.
