Pre-Federation Early warp transport WIP

That looks really cool. I like the circular insets on the caps. I wonder if you put some kind of a grill inside that vertical slot. It might help with scale, while giving it a useful function at the same time.

Warp core work. I always felt the warp coils were too simplistic.

I really like your design for the warps coils, and I agree that the future ones seem simplistic. They also don't really seem like coils either. Yours actually look like they are actual piece of equipment with components.

Any reasoning behind the elements?

In my "Flight of the Phoenix" thread. I described the Phoenix's warp nacelles as having metamaterial tiles rather than coils. When the warp plasma is injected into each tile they create the warp field.

I took a magnetron as inspiration. The cavity resonators kick the RF into subspace radio frequencies channeled through the coil by waveguide and energizing the coil to create the subspace field. The grill glow comes from a waveguide horn coupling to the opposite coil in the other nacelle, an idea I'm borrowing from Probert's claim of how Roddenberry explained the process for TMP (-a Trekyards episode.) One coil would have negative charge, the other a positive, and maybe cycling charges helps control the propulsive effect of the fields. I'm a Gene's Rules kind of guy even if much of Star Trek isn't. This is one possible method out of many.

That's pretty awesome. I like that the coil itself looks like an electromagnet...As I always thought that would be a good way to "warp" space by creating artificial gravity to warp the space in the first place. Excellent choice!
The coils in TNG didn't look simplistic to me though, as in they seemed to me that they would be able to create seemingly whole structures w/o any external details in a similar way that smaller real life magnets are made from one piece.
