A minute ago my Aunt called our house and told us my grandmother is sitting up in her bed at home. She's eating some potato soup, had a milkshake and watching her "Christian shows" on the television!

I'm praying for further improvement, too. My aunt says my grandma's just happy to be home. I hope this encourages her to fight. So no matter what happens in the future, thank you all very much for your prayers, best wishes, vibes, hopes and positive thoughts. Awesome news! I totally understand her need to be at home, whatever happens. She needed the comfort of familiarity (and potato chips!)

Good luck for your dad travelling tomorrow - I hope the roads are clear of traffic.

We got a call a little while ago and they're moving her from the hospital to her home, apparently, to die. She's been behaving a little more "tough" as my great Uncle put it, in that she's upset and angry with people. My mom figured it could have had something to do with the delusions she's been having. Me, I'm hoping it's because she's wanting to fight back. I still wish she'd change her mind and accept the life support. If she would, they could do something more effective.

i havent had a chance to catch up on the whole thread but
is hospice in her area.
it sounds like your family could use them.
one thing to check.
if she is in need of advanced nursing while dying she may be eligble for an in hospital hospice program if their hospitals have it.
