Prayers, Please

I wish I had known my mom when she was healthy (she started to get sick with MS when I was 2, and died when I was 11). Every one of you who grew up raised, in whole or in part, by a mother, count your blessings.

Although I don't mean this as a slight against my dad, who I consider pretty much a living god and to whom I owe everything. :techman:

Once more, thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. In about 6 hours, I have to take her up to the surgery center and they'll do all their tests and X-rays and all that. She is very scared, because she's afraid of what they might find. I told her that it is better to know, and that when you know, you can face it head on and overcome it. When I find out what's going on, I'll give you guys a basic update. Again, thank you for the prayers, the positive thoughts, the good vibes, everything is appreciated. I love all of you. I really do.

A diet of green tea, small doses of aspirin, and lots of green vegetables, might be recommended by the doctors after today?

:cool::cool:

Good luck to your Mom today, J. I hope she gets good news. Although I wonder how long it will take to get solid results.

Hello again. Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes, the positive thoughts and the good vibes. I just got Mom home and I've got her resting. I'll need to keep watch over her for the next 24 hours. She'll get her results in a week when she goes back to see her Urologist, and we're hoping for a ready and simple solution to this issue. Thank you all very much. I don't know if you realize how much I appreciate your praying for my mom. She needed every bit of it. Once more, I love you all very much, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Here she is after:

She also has a special message for everyone who prayed for her and wished her well:

If you're wondering, she's crossing her eyes and sticking her tongue out.
Keep in mind, she's still really feeling the anesthesia.

Aww, poor mom, considering what she's been through, she looks great. We'll continue to send her our good thoughts :techman:

Hey J., I haven't seen this thread earlier so pardon the delay. Hope everything's fine.
Take care, dood.

Thank you. Yeah, she's been through a lot. She's kept her sense of humor intact, though, and that's good. :D

Thank you, Mutenroshi, it is. She's doing well, now, though she's still asleep. She gets her results next week, and I'm believing with every fiber of my being that it will be good news.

It's good to see her fooling around like that. Hopefully, those test results will come early and bring good news.

I had a big scare with my Mom getting a quad bypass last July. It went very well and the recovery did also.
I hope it goes just as well, J.
And I guess I can cut you some slack now for not showing up on STO. :)

Amen to that, my friend.

I'm glad to hear your mom came through okay. :)
As for STO, well that's just because I ran out of money. I'll be back on in a few months. ;)

I know this thread's a week old, but I'm updating.

I took Mom to the Urologist today and he told her that her left kidney is useless. He said at this point it's nothing more than a sack of water and infection, and he wants to remove it. He said both ureters are inflamed, and to preserve the right kidney, which he says is functioning very well, he wants to remove the left one. He wants to take another look at the bladder and see if it's functioning properly, because he thinks that may be at the root of the problem. So this Thursday I'm taking her up to the hospital to get a Nuclear scan of some kind, I forgot the term, and then he'll see what to do from there. He said if he has to, he can remove the bladder and put in place a system where she would have a bag on her side. He told her that yes, it sounds daunting, but he feels she will be much healthier by taking this course of action, because on her current path, she's in dire trouble if nothing is done soon.

She is taking it very well, and is positive that she will come through this victorious. My mom has a will of iron, so I don't doubt it.

Thanks, KM. Now that it has sunk in a bit, she's scared, but we're here to comfort her, and I just reinforce her faith in God that she will be delivered through all of this and be better than when she went in, and considering her history, I believe with everything I have in me that it will happen that way.
