Praxis explosion wierdness

I rather doubt the Organians would be the slightest bit interested in Klingons or humans or any other primitives, as long as they kept out of their precious planet. And after "Errand of Mercy", Klingons and humans would know to avoid that planet even in the middle of a giant war of mutual annihilation.

If anything, the Organians should be working towards such annihilation. Two fewer primitive species to worry about.

Not to mention a single explosion on a moon dooming a whole empire. Made no sense at all.

^ Now, now. The Klingons were a poor Empire, even in the 23rd century (TOS), so if that moon was their only major source for Dylithum, and it was close to the homeworld, it might well have been the beginning of the end for them, especially since their model was "enslave the local populace" - they may have been outnumbered by their slave class by a large margin, so when Praxis go BOOM they may have taken their chance and revolted once they heard the news.

/Since the Klingons were modeled on the Soviets, I see Praxis as their Cherynobyl, and that didn't end too well for them. Or the F/X being plopped on the Death Star for that matter.
