Power Records Star Trek Revisited

I just listened to it. I've heard Roddenberry a lot. This sounds nothing like him to my ear. Where are the sibilant S's?

To be clear, you checked "A Mirror for Futility"? I'd better check it again, because this is getting bad for me.

Edit: I think the Sulu voice achieved Peak Roddenberry near the beginning, when he says "...check them yourself." Later in the program, I can hear a lot more ambiguity, and my certainty fades.

Yes, that's the one I listened to.

We have another problem. I just began listening to "The Birth of the Bionic Man," and it sounds like Dr. Rudy Wells might be played by one Mr. William Shatner:

If it's Shatner, he's doing a voice, like maybe a "Robert Vaughn" impression. But we know Shatner was still struggling financially circa 1975, and at one time or another, I've heard this quality in his voice. Like in Star Trek IV, when Scotty complains about Klingon food, and Kirk says "Oh, is that what it was?"

Or maybe Rudy just sounds like a bad impressionist doing Shatner. Because this is crazy. There was a time when Shatner would take any job, but this is crazy.

Zap, you’re drunk.

The guy who voiced Rudy Wells also did Kirk and Victor Bergman. It wasn’t Shatner....

Love ya!

This I believe. I said it was crazy. But now I'm waiting for a reply from Shatner's fan mail address. They're bound to reply in the negative.
