Post Your Dreams Thread

My latest dream was of an actor who lost his life when a vehicle smashed over an outsized riding mower and into a wooden shack where he was standing.

None of the flames were vertical, but came straight out the shack opening. But the vehicle itself was missing.

I have often had dreams where I had no part...

I had a few weird dreams last night, but the details aren't very clear to me now. They involved a sports competition, a hostage situation, and being on a cruise ship.

In one dream sequence, I was approached by young armed thugs. Without missing a beat, I said, "Get the f**k out of my dream!" Then I woke up.

I had kind of a weird dream last night. In it I was younger, like in my late teens or early 20s, and I met a girl at a party, and as I was talking to her I realized that I had met her at another party about a year earlier. Then when I woke up, I realized that the party I remember meeting her at, was in a different dream I'd had about a year ago. The girl also seemed familiar when I woke up, and I swear I met her sometime in real life, but I have no idea who she is or where I might have met her. It just seems weird that she apparently left enough of a subconscious impact that I would dream about her twice, a year apart, but I have no real waking memory of her.
It's kind of ironic that I keep dreaming about meeting her at parties, because I've actually only been to a very small handful of parties in my entire life. I have social anxiety and the thought of being around that many strangers, really just scares the crap out of me.

My life has been pretty stressful, lately, so most of my dreams involve being chased or hunted. Recently, I gave some zombies the slip by hiding in a store.

As long as it wasn’t a mall.

Another strange dream. Shatner was staying at my late parents house. Dressed as the Elderly Kirk from Deadly Years.

My parents told me he was dying, and to enjoy his company while I could.

All he did was sleep on the couch. I went down the cluttered basement, came back, and he had left in his car. He was healthy enough to drive, but only to his end somehow.

I took a nap there in front of the darkened TV set myself, feeling the loss.

I had a dream about David Bowie not long before he died...

Yikes! Did you at least get a beer at the pub?

I dreamed that there was a big get together with a bunch of people and it was a celebration for me for some reason. Sort of reminded me of the retirement party my friends threw for me years ago. I was trying to give some script to my little sister for her to read for everyone. No food or drink, so it would have been a boring party.

I dreamed that I was sitting at a desk, doing my tax return by hand. I made an error and had to erase it and re-write the number correctly. Exciting stuff.

A couple nights ago I dreamed that I was walking alone down the street, and I had this sense of dread and profound aloneness, as there were no signs of any other people anywhere. Suddenly the world was populated with life-size Lego people walking around. Their eyes were painted to look like googly eyes, which really freaked me out, especially when dozens of these Lego people started crowding around me.

I managed to get away, and I made my way to a grassy park. There were these guys in futuristic red armor like Iron Man or Power Rangers or something, filling up soccer balls with a flammable/explosive liquid substance. Then another guy in similar armor, except in green, flew in to attack the red ones. The red guys activated the soccer balls, turning them into balls of flame to use as weapons, but the green guy kept swooping in and kicking them, turning them back into inert, normal soccer balls.

I had a very enjoyable action dream last night when I would wake up for a glass of water or to use the bathroom and be able to go back to sleep and continue the dream.

It was like a cross between Terminator 2, War Of The Worlds and iRobot because I was in a city overrun with alien creatures decimating the area and the most vivid memory was being in a building running away from some tripod creature blasting away at it and people being blown up all around me.

It sounds like a horror but it was actually very entertaining and not at all scary. Maybe it was because I was in a very light sleep so was able to navigate my way like a "choose your own adventure". It's not often I have those kinds of dreams.

It makes me wonder if there are ways of mimicking that kind of sleep to make dreams the most vivid but maybe that's a bit too Flatliners. Now that film is scary.

I haven't had sci-fi or fantasy type dreams lately, but I did have a couple a while back that I remember.
In the first one, I was wondering around in a forest somewhere, and I stumbled across a line of fey going through the forest on foot and horseback. I walked around a bit more, and eventually the party they were all going to and I joined in. They were all really nice, and were very welcoming, even though I was crashing the party.
The second one was during a zombie apocalypse, and me and a blond woman about my age I had been traveling with were in a school gym trying to convince another group to let us join them. We were getting close to talking them into it, when a massive group of zombies busted through the gym doors and we ran from them together.

Awww... I wanna have a zombie apocalypse dream. Of course, if I did, I expect my Glock would be empty, my machete would be broken, and I wouldn't be able to find my chainsaw. That's how my dreams usually roll.

Speaking of walking dead, I was dead in my last dream. It's the sort of thing where no one could see or hear me, and I couldn't see anyone I knew anyway. It was... unsettling.

Taking an above ground subway to a kinda city where Pink Floyd is having a concert,.. the whole city is the concert but I keep looking everywhere there for the concert .. I start going in various business establishments and on they’re helping me write music in Spanish but I don’t know Spanish that well,.. there’s a stage upstairs in the business where they put shows on we are going to perform the new song in Spanish,.. at the stage there are 4 barber shop chairs in the front row in front of the stage next to the stage area is a dining area,.. some people are eating,.. yeah just abstraction of a dream... I go back out to look for the concert and the stage,..and light show but never find Pink Floyd or hear them playing,..

I once had a dream once where I had to play Harold Hill in "The Music Man"... in a few minutes... and I hadn't rehearsed. It was that or the Major General in "Pirates of Penzance" (my memory is a bit hazy). If you know either show, you know what a catastrophe that is!

Last night I dreamed I was sitting on the sofa in my parents' house (left that house in 1975) and I was dressed for bed because it was around 11pm. The blue afghan I was knitting was on my left side and I knew that my uncle and my cousin were coming to the house for some unknown reason. I suddenly heard the shower water running (in the real world) and wondered why my husband was taking a shower when my uncle and cousin were on their way. Then I woke up a little more and hoped they really were not coming because my uncle has been dead for many years and my cousin is not someone I really want to see anyway,

Oooh I had a doozy

Was invited to this country house owned by a friend of a friend who styles themselves as a "lady of the house" toffy kind of person and so a huge bunch of people came and were having a picnic out the back on the very well done back lawn which was rather huge. Lots of groupings of people. Anyway I was about to join them then was told to wait on the porch for the lady of the house as she wanted to talk to me, then as I sat there this plane thing, well it was huge, like really huge sailed across the sky and then sort of bobbed and turned, then looked like it was going to turn on its side.

The plane then just turned and went nose down into the ground over a hill but there was no big boom and just noise of a loud bang and instead of running everyone was running towards the plane to see what was going on, I got up from my comfy chair and started running then my hand was grabbed by this hand in a long black glove, the fancy kind that women wear for evenings on the town. Anyway this was the lady of the house self styled "Lady Catherine" and she started running with me toward the plane. Then I woke up.....

I was in the ground, like a giant crawl space. up above me were floor boards but it was in disrepair, and a lot was missing. I looked through the gaps. I could see I was in some kind of giant wooden dome, not a geodesic but made from planks at all manner of crazy angles. A good number of the boards had fallen or were never put in place, letting lots of sunlight in, which passed through the broken dome and through the equally ruined floor. I wanted out.
