Post Your Dreams Thread

This morning, I dreamed of a knock at the door. I answered it see a middle aged guy with grey hair. He stepped back from the porch, and without saying anything, gestured with his hands at the drive, as if trying to make me aware of a problem, but everything looked fine to me. And then he walked away. I called after him, demanding an explanation, but he ignored me.
I think that this was a work dream.

I dreamed that I had a last-minute public speaking engagement in Japanese, which I don't actually speak at all. It was on finance or economics or something like that. So I was reading everything from a phonetic transcript, except that the numbers were written as numerals, so I had to say all those numbers in English because I didn't know the Japanese equivalents. And whenever I tried to insert my own additional commentary into the presentation, I found myself making up a type of Pidgin by throwing in words from European languages I learned a little bit in school a long time ago, as if that would make me more understandable. The audience was politely attentive even though the whole thing was a terrible, incomprehensible mess.

I had a covid dream. For some reason we had gone to see parents, despite the lockdown. They're a couple hundred miles away and not an essential journey by any means. I was paranoid about being caught and fined, so, in the dream I planned to take the back roads home.

When we did decide it was time to go home, we stopped at s community centre that was still open. They had lots of activities for the kids and we let them get involved. While the kids played, my wife sat down and I paced for a while, looking for something on my phone. When I found it, I showed it to my wife, but it wasn't her, someone else had sat in her place.
There was no sign of either the kids or my wife anywhere. I looked everywhere, but they had vanished.
So, I sat down to take stock, and then I saw them, sat across the room. I stood up to join them, but my seat was somehow connected to theirs, and standing up ejected them out of the building and in to the water. Everyone told me to sit down.

Last night, for some reason, I dreamt that I was back in my old marital home, (I'm long divorced) and a young redhead Australian girl suddenly appeared, wandering around the house in various states of undress, making herself right at home.
Apparently she was a lodger, but my ex wife, who was faceless in the dream, did not see fit to tell me we had a lodger.
Not very exciting. I know, but that was it.

My dreams can be a bit on the dark side.

Last night I dreamt of being at an old festival ‘The Big Day out’. Some cheesy caricature of an American (fat guy, Hawaiian shirt) was speaking about the environment up on stage. He was suddenly off the stage and in front of me holding a knife I used to carry when I hitch-hiked as a teenager. He cut my throat with it and then a massive wave swept over the crowd. I felt like I was falling asleep bobbing around in the chaotic waters, rolling over a hill. I awoke about then.

I dreamt last night that I was giving a bride away at a wedding, not my daughter, but a random faceless bride.
When I got to the venue I couldn't find her, and there was a backlog of wedding parties queuing for their slot, all dressed in wedding attire.
My wedding attire did not stretch to wearing trousers which was weird, but I continued unconcerned, and tried to find the bride, before I knew it I was outside, getting caught up in a river of black oil, which was covering me as I tried to stay clean.
That's all I can recall, fuck knows what was going on in my mind.

I had a dream I was presented with a starship... Not very exciting no. Oh bloody hell it is I say. Anyway long dream I had been handed this disk with buttons on it in English and one was to beam up to the ship and one to beam down. The ship was crewed with duplicates of famous people who served as the crew. Lots of people I idolized and a few I fancied too... Anyway we left Earth for a 4 hour trip to the Moon and we orbited the Moon and I fired torpedoes into the Pacific Ocean to see what happens, Lots of damage... No one on Earth knew what was the cause.... They were very low yield too so didn't cause that much damage..

We then flew off out of the solar system at warp and headed towards a distant star and found life. Green people 33 cm tall. They looked just like us humans only they were all around 33cm tall....

We then flew back to Earth with a few guests and had martinis on the flight home. They were very civilized people. Earth looked like a shitshow. oops... I didn't factor in the climate changing due to oceans being flung around.

Then I woke up.

I had a Star Trek TOS dream. I was a junior engineer on the Enterprise, and I was given the choice of joining one of two projects: 1. some long-term job of improving engine efficiency, which might take months and months before we actually saw any progress, or 2. working with some ancient alien transportation device that we had found. I chose the transportation device.

So I set up the alien contraption as best as I could. Somehow I deduced that it was powered by coconuts, so I connected several coconuts to it with wires, and also wired it into the transporter console. I activated the whole kit and kaboodle as Kirk, Spock and McCoy got onto the transporter pads. Kirk said to test it out by transporting them to the Klingon homeworld. Some background voices talked about how the transportation process might also go twenty years into the past. So I pressed several buttons, and the transport commenced. We all found ourselves in a transporter receiving area in a largish-sized hall. Nobody was there, and it was really quiet. It was the Klingon homeworld alright, but in minimalist TOS style instead of the ornate TNG-era look. We started walking down a corridor to see if we could find anybody, but there was still nobody around. I woke up around that time.

I'm getting a little Gilligan's Island vibe from these dreams.

I had one of those traveling dreams last night. My sister and I were on a plane flying from the SF Bay Area to somewhere on the East Coast. The aircraft was unusually small, maybe with a seating capacity of 20 to 30 passengers, most of whom were older women. Even weirder was that the plane was flying at a very low altitude, almost just several feet above houses and other buildings, and at a reduced velocity. :wtf: Nonetheless, our ETA at our vague destination was only two hours.

There were only two crew members on the flight: the pilot and the flight attendant, neither of whom was really attentive. One passenger kept pointing out, "Watch out for that crane" and some other objects, and the pilot would make course corrections every time.

We did reach our destination, and I don't recall where it was, how long we stayed, etc., but on the flight back home aboard the same plane with the exact same crew and passengers, we made a layover stop at Dublin, Ireland. I was so excited thinking this was one of the places I wanted to visit someday. We all got out of the plane, except this time my elderly mom was with me. I remember seeing a lot of commercial buildings in the city, but that was it.

At some point, I also dreamt I was getting it on with The Flash's Grant Gustin. That was the second dream I'd had of him this past year. Not sure why. He's a handsome actor, but I'm not that fixated on him. Last year, I dreamt I was "air skating" with him over the lake at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

Edit: No it wasn't Grant Gustin last time. It was Cole Sprouse from Riverdale.

Sometimes I have vivid dreams that I can remember immediately after waking up, but as time passes, the details become foggy. Last night I thought I had a brilliant dream that turned out to be "meh."

It was like I was watching an episode of The Twilight Zone. A married couple was traveling back in time to different periods of each other's life. For example, the elderly wife went back to see when her husband was in grade school (so the boy didn't recognize the woman at the time). Or the husband was a teenager and he met a middle-aged woman who would be his wife (then of course, he didn't know that yet). At some point, there were different versions of both husband and wife in the present timeline, and they were mixed up and were trying to go back to their original timeline.

What an odd dream.

I had two vivid dreams today, back to back with a waking interlude, so i remembered them.
The first I was somehow viewing my body down below, which was dead, and at first I thought i was watching my own autopsy but i began to realize it was med students using my cadaver for training.

I was not terrified but I was somewhat annoyed and kept wondering why they were doing certain things, like removing half my face.

I woke up.

The next one was more pleasant. It was like a "how its made" episode. I watched some long complicated process for making pudding in a factory. I'd like to replay that one, it was good.

Seriously been having lengthy dreams about playing billiards on unlevel tables. It's come around a number of times, enough to probably mean something. I suppose I'm preoccupied with life being an unlevel playing field

dream was kind of a replay of a ride i took down to georgia the other day, without any traffic to deal with. was kind of nice actually. didnt stop for gas. dull but good. my brain doesnt like my bike being in the shop, I think.

I dreamed I was trekking across Europe.
I don't remember much detail, but I ended up on a really long train ride that was going in the wrong direction from where I needed to go. I had no idea what I was going to do when I got to the end of this train route. Then I woke up.

I dreamed last night that I was in an office where I tried to hide that I hadn't even logged in on my computer because I'd been reading on my Kindle most of the time. Then people started coming into the office which then sort of morphed into a classroom and I was trying to write on a chalkboard (do classrooms even HAVE those today?) but couldn't remember if the "capital" in "capital gains" was spelled capital or capitol. I asked my former boss how to spell it when he came in. My dreaming self seems a little dumber than my awake self.
Ok, it's a toss up.

I had a dream with my mystery redhead, the one I've mentioned here before and this time around we were walking in a park, and out of nowhere she grabs my hand and wants to dance in the middle of the park. Then I wake up and am disappointed I never got to see the rest.
