^ I remember it as well. And it came in discussions Picard was having with Guinan, whose word Picard holds in high standing. Furthermore, Sela confirmed the existence of survivors while talking about her past and her mother.

If you'll pardon the double negative, I can't NOT see Picard delving further into this matter. Given how he laid into Wesley Crusher later on in that season about the first duty of a Starfleet officer being truth in its myriad forms, it would be hypocritical of him to let this go.

I would think that Section 31 or DTI would be pretty intent on getting their hands on alternate future Yar.

I can see DTI shuffling their feet and agreeing to let the Romulan equivalent agency look after her, but 31 would quite possibly swoop in and fake her death and then recruit her.

Section 31 might want to get its hands on alternate-future Yar, but would it? I wouldn't underestimate the capabilities of Romulan security agencies.

Also, is it possible? Alternate-future Yar is almost certainly dead by the time that Sela alerted him to her biographical particulars, more than 25 years after the battle at Narendra III. Whether she was executed immediately for betraying General Volskiar or whether, removed from his protection, she was rendered for whatever information she might have about the future and then disposed of, is something that we have no way of knowing. (Sela seemed to imply that she was executed immediately, but her account can plausibly be inaccurate: Sela at the time was only four years old, and/or Sela could have been lying, and/or Sela could have been misled.)

We really can't trust anything Sela says. She's got every reason to lie to Picard.

I can't remember, did anyone do a DNA scan on her to make sure she really was Tasha's daughter?

The whole point of Sela being present was to unnerve Picard, get him to make mistakes that would allow the Romulan resupply of the Duras faction to continue. To that end, I don't necessarily see her sitting still for a DNA sample or anything as overt as what Shinzon did in "Nemesis" (cutting himself with his dagger and then handing same over to Picard for Crusher to run DNA testing on as proof), but she would surely have to know that they'd analyze the hell out of her transporter sequence and compare it with biofiles from Yar's time on board. Regardless of how they would prove it, it would be the height of lameness to have Sela make statements regarding her parentage without having the ability to back it up. Romulans are arrogant, but not stupid.

I just don't see them executing Yar just like that, as Sela described. Sela was born a year after the events of "Yesterday's Enterprise", she said. I really can't see Volskiar letting the Tal Shiar interrogate her for 2-3 months and then letting him impregnate her, and THEN leaving her to raise Sela in relative peace (gilded cage though it may have been) until she was killed after an abortive escape attempt. Yar was a Starfleet officer with valuable tactical and operational knowledge gained through years of attrition warfare with the Klingons, albeit in another timeline, and you just don't let someone like that out to pasture without very thorough interrogation. I am of the opinion that they told a young Sela that she was executed and then delivered Yar to the Tal Shiar, never to be seen again.

The ultimate fate of the Enterprise-C survivors is equally murky. Though Yar negotiated for their survival, certainly they were subjected to immediate interrogation. I doubt they ended up on some remote colony on a remote planet like the Klingon Khitomer survivors Worf found, as any deal Yar arranged for their safety probably was negated with her death...or "death", as it may be.

Temporal Ambassador: The Fate of the C.

Just completed the STO 3rd anniversary mission featuring Denise Crosby as Lt. Tasha Yar and the USS Enterprise-C.

Spoiler: Episode plot

In 2409, Starfleet detects an anomaly in the Azure Nebula and sends the Character (in my case, that was Cpt. Okram bim Terev of the USS Temeraire) to investigte. Upon scanning the anomaly, the timeline changes!

Terev is now a freigther captain running for the Tholians. We are now in the War Timeline of TNG Yesterday's Enterprise.

Here, history took the following course:
The Klingons defeated the Federation and resistance was mounted. The Bajorans discovered the wormhole. The Breen and Cardassians joined forces with the Dominion, which conquered the Alpha Quadrant (Earth and Qo'noS are destroyed). The Tholians remained free thanks to a non-aggression pact with the Dominion. Section 31 is either non-existent or powerless.

On a Tholian base in the Azure Nebula, Captain Terev is approached by Lt. Richard Castillo, who begs for help to restore the timeline. Apparently, the Klingon weapon fire changed the direction of the temporal anomaly. Instead of going back to Narendra, the Enterprise-C travelled further into the future, the year 2409. Now the ship is in Tholian hands and the crew serves as workers.

Terev supports their effort. Not interesting for TrekLit, but nice continuity porn for STO players: Terev encounters numerous familiar faces on the station (including Va'Kel Shon, really captain of the Enterprise-F). Some of them are only alive in this alternate timeline (e.g. Klingon war criminal B'vat).

Skipping the escape plot action; Terev, Tasha, Castillo and T'nae (originally Vulcan Starfleet admiral) free and board the C, beaming the about 100 C survivors back on board. A Tholian flottilla attempts to prevent the escape and is likely to succeed with ther Tarantula-class dreadnought. Then, however, the Wells-class timeship Pastak appears, destroyes the dreadnought. The Pastak and C fight together and defeat the Tholians.

Before the Enterprise enters the properly calibrated anomaly to finish the Battle of Narendra, Terev is beamed aboard the Pastak. Captain Walkers intents to restore the timeline and does not want Terev to go back in to the past, spoiling it further. Moreover, her participation in important events of the 25th century is vital.

The timeline is restored. The Temeraire scans for the anomlay, but it is goen. Nobody knows about the events.

Reward: playable Ambassador-class support cruiser, Yesterday's Enterprise uniform.

It was a blast and I loved to interact with the iconic characters but also to meet other familiar STO NPCs.

Question: What does Pastak refer to? There's no wiki article about that.
