On March 8th I had an ulcer rupture and I almost died! It was a surprise since I just thought I had the flu or something. I was throwing up and had back pain. But then here I was in the emergency room at the hospital and them telling me I had to have surgery now or they could not be sure of saving my life. 2 hours later everything changed for me...

Holy moley! I'm glad you're alright. ::gentle hugs::

During my exercise/mental health walk, I found a credit card issued by a Colombian bank on the sidewalk of a surburban street in my city this morning. I'm not going to say where in the city, which bank, which credit card brand, for obvious reasons. Anyway, I dropped it off at the local fire station, and the firefighters who took it off my hands will pass it along to the police, and hopefully it gets dealt with as needed from there.

I dragged all the stuff I was going to take to the recycle center (dump) out to my car and shoved it in the back. Then I took off and drove right past the recycle center. I went on to the grocery store, planning to stop on the way back. On the way home I once again passed the recycle center. I had to turn around and go back so that I could finally get rid of the garbage and recyclables. Brain atrophy is sad, sigh.

Been there, had that day.

I had whooping cough as a teenager because I was apparently not vaccinated for it even though I got all my other vaccinations. I was hospitalized because of it and almost flunked 7th grade.

Cool profession, EnsignCappy! A friend of mine trains guide dogs for visually impaired. As I am extremely nearsighted I am always asked to do test runs: without glasses I am insecure enough to give the dog the feeling it must guide me, but I still see enough to realize when it tries to lead me across the road when the light is red.

needing a guide dog for blind people is as i'm highly canophob (and they know it) the greatest horror i could come up with. having said that i think these dogs do great work.

Rats can do the job just as well, as far as inteligence is concerned. Only you'd need a huge one.
If it's not too personal a question: is it a psychological problem, bad experience or parental influence that caused the phobia? In the latter 2 cases it would be rather easy to heal. The first case would require a few years therapy. Having grown up with dogs, I might be able to help in all threee cases. Being scared is such an unpleasant feeling. Nobody should have to have it.
