Spoilers Possible Costume Spoilers in After Trek

Credit to Fourierspace on Star Trek Reddit for catching this. There are costumes behind the woman talking which look alien but NOT Klingon. The speculation is that they are possibly a new Romulan design? There's a distinctive symbol of a winged figure on both of them. The other possibility is that they are MU Vulcan costumes, and the symbol could be the Rebel's insignia I suppose. What do you think?

Perhaps in the MU, Romulans and Vulcans never split, and possibly Surak was assassinated before he successfully employed logic as his world's cultural foundation. That would explain the MU Vulcans' sudden fascination with avian symbolism. Come to think of it, I don't ever recall any reference to the Romulans in any MU episode of TOS, DS9 or ENT. Perhaps the distinction simply doesn't exist and they're all...well...Vulculans™.

Dunno! But I'm pretty sure that All Will Be Revealed. That said, the logo on his tunic is quite suggestive of the typical Romulan aesthetic, so who knows if there are any allegiances at work here. Then again, wherever they are in the trailer seems to be the usual Ragtag Rebel Base (tm) setup, so for all we know Sarek grabbed the outfit off of a dead Romulan about his size.

While it is true that this is a lie for Jennifer's benefit, she would've called him out on it if it wasn't plausible. The Romulans exist as some sort of polity than can help (but isn't helping) the Rebellion in the 24th century.

Well, during the Time of the Awakening on Vulcan, when Surak was spreading his message of logic, "those who marched beneath the raptor's wings" (the future Romulans) opposed him, so avian symbolism was already an existing part of Vulcan culture. The Romulans just took it to eleven.
