I think of David Ankrum as the "real" Wedge, and he did reprise the role in Rogue One.

BDW also "voiced" Lando for Star Wars Rebels and The Lego Movie so it seems like he's still up for it if the role is offered (being stuck in a wheelchair didn't seem to stop Stewart in his X-Men movies so i'm sure the SW could figure something out if need be.

...but if there's anything I've learned this past weekend, it's that some Star Wars fans are unreasonable, or at least not accepting of reasonability.
Episode IX: After Leia is lost off-screen and all seems lost, The Falcon comes to one of General Calrissian's business planets for help. Lando shows up in some sort of floaty-chair, in his old rebel uniform with his cape trailing behind him, to save the day. He comes with guns, ships, all of the missing outer rim sympathizers, and enough Colt 45 for everyone.

Right now, I'd put the possibility of Lando showing up in Episode IX at 30% and dropping. Given that Billy Dee Williams is far older and in worse health than Carrie Fisher (apparently) was, no way they're gonna take a chance on another tragic death in mid-production. At most, it would be a one-day-on-set cameo with Billy sitting down somewhere beaming a holomessage or two to our current heroes (ala William Hartnell in 'Doctor Who:The Three Doctors'), and that hardly seems worth it. Just say Lando (and Wedge) died in a battle somewhere in the thirty years in-between trilogies and be done with it.
They might want to record Anthony Daniels saying all his lines as Threepio when they do the script read-through with the cast before they start shooting too - just in case.

Carrie Fisher's death, tragic and unfortunate that it was, in no way caused any production problems. Her material for TLJ had already been filmed, and while it's true Episode IX obviously has to re-work whatever they had planned for Leia, I very much doubt the loss of Fisher created any problems for that movie. Colin Trevorrow's firing has created more of an obstacle for that movie than the loss of Carrie Fisher.

Hey, I'm not too proud to admit it - Carrie's death has me rattled. She was the youngest of the classic cast, and had no known physical health problems (the mental ones we all know) either. Artoo and Chewbacca could be (and were) recast without blinking an eye, and someone else can always fit into Threepio's suit while Anthony provides the dialogue. The finish line of this Saga's finally in sight, and I don't think it's a bad idea to take precautions in light of what happened.
To be honest, I'm not nearly as worried about Anthony not making it to the end as I am about John Williams. That would be a tragedy beyond measure if he couldn't score this last film.

Man, I wonder who Disney would choose to bring on to replace Johnny Dubs after the inevitable happens?
Ideally someone with a previous history of working with John Williams' material. Obvious possiblities are William Ross (who shared a co-credit with Williams for Chamber of Secrets), Patrick Doyle (GoF)/Nicholas Hooper (OotP & HBP)/Alexandre Desplat (DH pts 1 & 2) or John Ottman (Superman Returns) are also possiblities. The top of the 'wish list' is likely to be Hans Zimmer, he's said he's not doing 'superhero' movies anymore, but he has done a sci-fi film or two since, so he might be open to it.
Snoke never once got up from his throne, so it wouldn't be so bad if Lando always sat. Heck, he spent the vast majority of his screen time in RotJ sitting at the controls of the Falcon. Or they can always pull a TOS Captain Pike with him.
Exactly. When I heard that line, it seemed like a perfect set-up to me. "If there are any allies to the Resistance..." He's sat on the sidelines this long (no pun intended), but a desperate final plea from an old friend, especially if she presumably dies sometime between this movie and the next, should be enough to draw him back into the fray.
Um... She was an alcoholic and drug addict for years (apparently, right up to the end). That certainly does take a physical toll on the body -- weight problems, high blood pressure, etc.. -- so I would call that known physical health problems. In fact, her autopsy showed the presence of both heroin and cocaine at the time of death, which likely contributed directly to her cardiac arrest.
I watched The Last Jedi again today and I noticed Leia specifically telling them to use her personal codes (or something along those lines) prior to broadcasting the signal to the Outer Rim. That makes me wonder if, even though they didn't get a response this time, Leia was reaching out to old friends...including possibly Lando.
