POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in S3

Welcome to the board. I hope you brought body armor.

Many thanks, RJDiogenes! I was very wary of coming here as on many lists I've been told that anyone daring to claim a liking for Enterprise on this forum would be set upon and torn apart, but the ListMom persuaded me to give it a go.

I feel the darker, by far more complex ideas for Season Three will be fascinating.

You're welcome. I, too, lurked here for a while with little interest in joining the fray; ultimately, I registered for a completely non-Trek reason: To post a web site link for a fellow Shadow fan. :) But I'm happy to be here as a positive voice for Enterprise... even if it is just a voice in the wilderness. :D

I agree with you steve12!! It would be a shame for Enterprise to trash the well-crafted subplot that has developed Archer and T'Pol's relationship. I have greatly admired the continuity Enterprise has shown and would hate to see it dumped to attach these famous "young" viewers who want instant gratification. The glacial pace of Mulder/Scully was great in that it wasn't the plot just part of the background---a rich part albeit as are the Archer/T'Pol moments of Enterprise .

This 38 year old isn't interested in "instant" gratification. Archer and T'Pol should be friends. That's where their chemistry lies. ;)

Darker Archer, yes. Friend to T'Pol, yes. Lover of T'Pol--no.

Hi Angie! Glad to see another A/TP fan lurking about.. I agree with you, of course. :)

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

New Opening Theme for one!

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

well this fourty something person very much likes the archer /tpol friendship and relationship as captain and first officer.. at its best like in the shuttle in cease fire it is very kirk/spock like...

but I a also look forward to the deepening of the friendship and relationship between tucker and tpol..
:)

but most of all i want these people to learn you dont have to do just action adventure stories or character driven stories ..
you can intergrate elements of both into one story..

they need to refer to tos episodes like the doomsday machine, corbomite manauver, balance of terror and tholians web..

Word for word, pookha , eloquently describes what I hope for in S3.

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

Story arc would add depth to the series and give us a reason to watch besides the potential of cool AOTW. (I admit I enjoyed the Klingon eps and those involving Shran and the Andorians ) my second choice would be not a darker Archer but a tougher one. They made moves in that direction this season but they need to go further if Archer is ever to rank up there with Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway.

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

A "darker" Archer, no. A stronger Archer, yes. There is nothing wrong with have a sensitive guy in command, but you've got to show that he earned that position.

Right now, Archer is just wandering around the bridge, not being the leader he is supposed to be. He can lead gently, but he has to LEAD.

That's the problem with Archer. BTW, while I'm no fan of B&B by any stretch, having a sensitive captain in charge of the Enterprise is a good idea and can work, but they're gonna have to sit down and figure out the complexities of such a character. And since I work for a man very similiar to Archer, believe me, that's not gonna be all that easy.

Sensitive? We saw his sensitive side during ANISB!:lol:

True. He really loves his dog.

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

The show's cancellation? ;-)

Just kidding. Sort of.

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

^More or less. Of course, that depends on your definition of "intimacy." I don't think it means intercourse, per se, but the upcoming scene wherein she applies Vulcan acupuncture to help Trip avoid his nightmares and sleep probably won't be entirely pristine. :D I have a sneaking suspicion the direction may be rife with sensual overtones. Just a hunch. ;)

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

You've posed an interesting question, Lady_C.

I see big changes coming to this series. The biggest one by far is the NX01 being assigned a mission. They are finally returning to Star Trek's root - "To explore strange new worlds, new civilizations and boldy go where no one had gone before." I daresay it's about time!

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

1. Well written stories
2. Star Trek: Enterprise in the title (i'd prefer a new opening entirely)
3. Mayweather putting on his red shirt and going on an away mission :o

after these changes have been made, I would be able to enjoy my weekly portion of new trek again...

Re: POLL: What are you looking Forward to most in

Most looking forward to...?

1. Trip and Archer dropping T'Pol and starting a relationship with each other. Including quarters-hopping and Trip finding it difficult to sit.

2. Hoshi finding a breakthrough in relations with the Xindi by having s-l-o-w sex with a Xindi-Sloth. You want arcs don'tcha? This could take several episodes at least!

3. The introduction of the Starfleet toga as the new uniform. They could be in the colour of the department. Red for Trip and Malc, blue for Hoshi and yellow/gold/whatever for Archer and Travis. Not only would this mean the colours of Tippy's new look would fit in and the overall colour scheme be so much brighter, but also we'd all get to see our favourite's legs!

 ;)
