Re: POLL: How Do You Feel About the Borg on Enterp

Bringing the Borg back signals the creative death of Star Trek. Its time to put this dog down.
This is my great fear - even if
Regeneration is the best Enterprise episode of all, it speaks volumes about the intent of TPTB in regards to the show's premise.
This is meant to be a 22nd Century show. If they can only come up with good ideas by "borrowing" 2-bit villains from the 24th Century, then something is plainly wrong. What about the Romulans, or the Orions, or the humans for goodness sakes? Even if we can't get stories with deep and meaningful social commentary, can we at least get stories that are relevant to the bloody time period?
First we get a ship design that makes
no chronological sense at all, then we get a theme tune that is better suited to Doctor Phil. Combine this with dozens of rehashed stories involving senior crewmembers being captured/arrested, a refusal on the part of the writers to accept the realities of this situation, several meaningless 'stunt' episodes, one absolutely AWFUL cliffhanger resolution, the incessant forehead-of-the-week meandering and an abhorrently dull musical score, and I quickly get the feeling that TPTB is utterly freaked out by the whole concept of creativity
At least they won't resort to using the Bor..
Wait. I know.
I know.
If
Enterprise is meant to be a reimagining of the Trek saga, that's fine by me. If it's meant to be a prequel, then that's good also. Either of these possibilities has a lot of potential, but for crying out loud - they have to choose one already! Nothing's more dull than watching a show that doesn't know what it wants to be.
