I simply can't belive this is happening, it must be a joke surely?
If not this is the ultimate final nail in Ent's coffin and prove if need be that B&B should be executed immedialty
Didn't they learn ANYTHING from Voyagers misserable last few seasons and AWFUL run-ins with the Borg

Terrible idea. Not only does it reek of creative bankruptcy, but it presumes stupid science (the Borg debris didn't burn up on an uncontrolled entry into Earth's atmosphere) and incompetence on the part of the TNG crew (in not seeking out and removing the Borg debris before they left).

I absolutely LOVE this idea!

I've actually been waiting for something like this since "Broken Bow"--an absolute continuity violation.

B&B know full well that the Borg weren't discovered until the 24th-Century. By having the Borg in the 22nd-Century--as a result of events in "Star Trek: First Contact"--it will definitely imply that ENT exists in an altered timeline from the one that originally produced TOS, TNG, DS9 & VOY...

As far as we know, the Temporal Cold War could be about restoring or destroying the original Trek timeline...

I personally think there a number of stories that ENT should not touch on. One of the paramount items on that list is the Borg. I have just one question. What does the Borg have to do with the formation of the Federation?

Creative bankruptcy?

More like creative toilet plunging. The Borg were a masterful and evil presence on TNG and in FIRST CONTACT but more recent VOYAGERs all but pussified the Collective in the same way Species 8472 was all but completely defanged for the sake of showing Captain Janeway chumming it up with Boothby(Ray Walston) on a recreation of Starfleet Headquarters/the Academy.

On the balance I have to say probably a bad idea. First, becuase B&B have a bad record when it comes to internal consistency. Second, the Borg are so clearly identified with the TNG era, bringing them into ENT sends the wrong signals.

Hope I'm wrong.

I voted for the OK idea-if handled correctly option. I was impressed with how the Romulans were introduced in Minefield, and how the Tholians were handled in Future Tense AND how the Andorians have been handled throughout. That's 3 for 4 (the Ferengi pushed things a bit) and that's a good average.

Cheers

Alex

Well I voted for "it's ok - depending on how they handle it" (although really that pretty much comes out as "wait & see" if you think about it).

Only if everyone finds out, and the knowledge of the events aren't contained and/or covered up. ;)

I'll wait and see. What information has been released makes it look potentially interesting, but the fact remains that this info is incomplete, unverified and subject to change. It's way too early to get excited about things.

This idea has potential to be one killer episode. They know how pissed everyone would be if continuity was messed with so they're being careful.

True...because if they pull another Ferengi story--"We originally met these 24th-Century aliens in the 22nd-Century, but didn't really know who they were"--then I'll give up on ENT once and for all...

Only if the big surprise is not the founding of the Fedration, but the early discovery of Borg tech leads to the Earth empire and this is in fact the mirror universe, and we're watching going bad...

I thought about voting for "it's OK if they do it right," but I decided to go for "I'll wait to see how it turns out" instead. I'd describe my feelings as "very cautiously optimistic" at best.

Re: POLL: How Do You Feel About the Borg on Enterp

This is no surprise to me. I will admit though, I thought they'd wait until the middle of season 3 to do this. Guess with the ratings the way they are, and fan dissention so high, they couldn't afford to wait any longer to put this sure thing ratings booster on the air.   These guys are just too much. Too much!!
This is a terrible idea, but what the hell, most of their ideas are.   They are a pair.
Oh well, no skin off my nose. I don't watch this farcical excuse for a Star Trek series anyway. But I do get some good laughs reading what these boneheads do.

Re: POLL: How Do You Feel About the Borg on Enterp

The Borg: castrated, diluted, mutilated worn, emasculated, oxidated, stained, overstretched, wasted, flaccid, and decaying carrion of a once potent concept for a supervillian.

This earth was stripped and leeched past exhaustion by VOY; all paths concerning it lead to a wasteland.

Terrible idea.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Huzzah to the Borg.

Re: POLL: How Do You Feel About the Borg on Enterp

Well I personaly think it could be a good episode if handled right. The idea is all right, that after the First Contact there had remaind some Borg remains on Earth. But I'll wait and see it, but I must say that after Judgment this is the Episode I wait most...

PS: Hmmm... Is it me or the Poll results are totaly screwed up? As hard As I look if I add the results together there is more then 100% it is around 150% or maybe more?
