I guess I can handle the Borg on ENT as long as they come clean and change the menace line to: "Quality is Futile".

Or: "Inter-series continuity is futile. We will adapt other characters and species to serve our ratings needs." :D

Re: POLL: How Do You Feel About the Borg on Enterp

I shuddered when I heard of the Borg plot. These guys lost their appeal after "Best of Both Worlds" and have now evolved into an overused, if not pathetic, plot device that B&B use when they can nolonger think of anything new and exciting write.

No...the WORST possible thing they could do is continue to believe that we,the audience as a whole,WANT this kind of repetitive, unimaginative ratings-booster crap every few weeks or so. Sure, the low-demand,instant gratification crowd with little regard for continuity don't mind(but then again what DON'T some of them mind)but fans like myself DO. And I'd wager to say the people who give a damn about flow and continuity greatly outnumber those to whom anything goes as long as the story is "cool".

I think it's more of them not realizing that what they're making is complete crap! That's certainly my impression reading interviews of Berman and Braga.

No surprises. Brannon Braga wouldn't know consistent,week-to-week,top quality storytelling if a genie popped out of a bottle and gave it to him. He'd still find some way to use the Borg or Ferengi one time too many.

Re: POLL: How Do You Feel About the Borg on Enterp

Terrible idea. The Borg weren't encountered until the 24th century in TNG episode.
What the hell are the "creative teams" at UPN thinking ?

"Heh-heh...let's put in the Borg. That'd be soooo cool."
Who's writing this tripe, Beavis and Butthead ?

I don't think it is a good idea at all. The borg were destroyed by the Enterprise E and that is the way it should stay.

Couldn't have said it better- and the problem is- you're right. People have an insatiable curiosity, so when the Borg are mentioned, everyone will tune in to see exactly what was done and how. And I am no exception, I'll be sitting in front of the tv when it airs. I may not like it, but I will. Nothing like being manipulated by TPTB huh?

I've been B&B's bitch before and I think I'm getting tired of it. I'm most likely never going to give up on ENTERPRISE but we need more TOS-species-oriented storylines to help fill in the gaps between Archer and Pike/Kirk,as well as more original adventures packed with wonder, horror and story arcs. These one-shot ratings grabbers that mangle continuity for the sake of attracting 704 extra viewers get tiresome after a while. One a season is okay, but two? Three? MORE?

When i first heard about the Borg being on ENT, i thought it was stupid and severley messing with, well everything.

But then i found out that the bit they find was from the Sphere that the E-E scragged over Earth in FC, i changed my mind and now i think its a good idea. That storyline sticks with the rest of Trek very nice.

And Starfleet would no doubt cover it all up, but bits come out over the years, thats how 7's parents went lookin for em, and since it was all covered up/ and forgotten, its quite reasonable to think Picard had no knowledge of the Borg before 'Q-Who'

Should be a good episode.

In light that UPN aired this episode tonight, a new pole should be created on how people felt about it now that they have seen it.
We don't have UPN over here so I have to wait until Sunday when NBC airs it and Buffy. (yay!)

Not a bad idea at all. I go ahead and whip one up. Also, the grading poll is available as well! :D
