Woman of any man's dream is rigid and cold, loving perfection more than anything else, and proving day after day how much smarter she is than her man? Wow, never thought titties would be enough for someone to settle to something like this. :p

This poll is an outrage.

I can't believe so many people would choose to settle down with someone who will be dead in just a few years.

:wtf:

She's way more than just a pair of tits (which are real, by the way). Seven's smart. She has one ravishing body and a beautiful face. She's not bitchy. The perfect woman, I'd say.

I really hope people with a terminal illness won't read this non-sequitur. :wtf:

Hmmm, does that make them all pedophiles too.
No, it doesn't. And personally I don't really appreciate being equated to a pedophile. Even if it is meant as a joke.

Strong woman and bitch do not need to be synonyms...

But they can be:

strong woman
–noun
3. Slang.
a. A name, loosely synonymous with 'bitch', referring to unpleasant women who seek power and control.
b. a malicious, unpleasant, selfish woman.

Warning for trolling. Comments to pm.

Okay. I was just trying to be light hearted. Here's my real source that I was going to post after some of the ladies playfully teased back. That never happened, of course. But anyway--

Paragraph from the article
“BITCH – A Strong Woman Displaying Stereotypically Male Qualities, Like Leadership and a Voice”
from Ladies of the Round Table

….
So, to break it down, the word “bitch” is used for women who are displaying qualities that are stereotypically male, or men who are acting like stereotypical women. Just as the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) community has re-claimed the term “queer,” this new feminist movement seeks self-empowerment by embracing the term “bitch,” in attempt to take its power and spin it into a complimentary term indicating a “strong woman.” Personally, I really like what this organization is trying to accomplish.
….

I said it can be synonymous, and, by golly, it can.

Why is Kes' age compared to human age? She was an adult in Ocampa standards, for crying out loud.

Why is Kes' age compared to human age? She was an adult in Ocampa standards, for crying out loud.

True, she's a young adult by Ocampan standards, but there's still going to be the human involuntary squick when a person thinks about how much older they are. Think about it, a young adult human dating a young adult Ocampan would be 'old' enough to have been born perhaps before the Ocampan's grandparents.

You'd also have to remember that it's us late 20th/early 21st Century attitudes that is driving this feeling, so we might just be expressing outdated attitudes in comparison to 23/24th Century people in terms of cross species dating/relationships.

There's something else to consider, too. Say you hook up with an Ocampan who's 3 years old and you're 30 (ignoring the current-day standards and that squick for the moment). You have children, live together, etc. etc. Assuming a lifespan of 9 years for said Ocampan spouse various offspring, and that you live a reasonably healthy life, you may very well outlive your great-grandchildren and beyond. That'd be a waaaay bigger mental roadblock for me against partnering with an Ocampa.

If I had to pick one from Voyager, I'd have to say 7. She's beautiful, but more importantly, very intelligent.

Yes. They were all there at her second birthday party in Twisted.

Look at how kirk treated Trelane, how how he treated Trelane changed after he figured out that his opponent was actually a billion billion year old child. Kes might be more emotionally developed than Trelane but lets just ask why Q needed Vash? Kes is fresh off the the assembly line, no matter that all her parts, including her brain and supposedly her soul, first person to say she has an old soul gets a smack in the chops, are in working order and good to go, five by five, and there's no compatibility issues with any other people approximately the same height. Sure she's a woman, but you have to stick something in that shell other than untested potential.

She learns quick, processes, and remembers. Seems like a circus trick rather than road to "maturity".

Condescending, arrogant, racist/speciesist, dismissive, terse, oblivious, dogmatic, patronizing, elitist, isolative, impatient, redactive, acute, unyielding, invasive, nurtureless, anionic and humourless.

Is there a single word that sums all this up?

Everyone keeps talking about the meat that makes up her body.

Not impressed personally.

Y'all keep talking about her sexually too, and then you, the collective "you" seem to sexualize her while forgetting that the lady is a virgin. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but requirements to believe that she's a fully actualized mate, fails to recall that she has not had sex, does not want sex and might not be ready for sex or ever even have the capacity to enjoy sex or need sex. So she might be a decent person, but as a partner and lover, this woman is more of a child than Kes.

This poll is an outrage.

Humans are to Vulcans as Ocampans are to Humans.

So Imagine what Tuvok thinks of Kes?

What's B'Elanna's Life expectancy?

Those old Klingons from TOS turning up on DS9 must have been pushing 200.

Kirk made out with a 20,000 year old child in TOS: The Apple.

However, Riker was face raped by a three day old Android in TNG the Offspring.

but Kirk fell in love with, I mean he was tricked into falling in love, I mean he was tricked into being an emotional surrogate to jumpstart a mostly newborn robots emotionality with his overclocked machismo, so that another man 6000 years his senior and too dead on the inside to do the job himself, could get some little blonde booty call (Although I thought she looked better as a red head 20 years later on Santabarbara.) to follow him around and tell him how wonderful he is.

Then to an even further extreme Q was tossed aside for someone 5 billion years her junior

It's all relative.

In the before and after timeline she becomes a doctor, has a family and gets grey hair and her chin droops towards her naval... You can see out ward appearances that she is developing as a person. Yay. Hell she's a grandmother.

The timelines diverged, and she left like 5 minutes later so we couldn't see her grow up into middle age over the next few months, but for some reason I think contact with species 8472, which also ignited her latent abilities, or some story we didn't see, gave her enough brain damage to regard the girl as retarded... Not being offensive, but by thumb, 1 human year = 15 ocampan years, by the beginning of the third year of the show, when she was approaching her 4th birthday: She should have been janeways equal or even surpassed on her on many levels if her brain is as really spongelike as it seems that she finally did have the experiences to bolster her ability to understand who she is and what she's doing and and where she's going, which is really what maturity is really about... Nice new hair, but did she seem almost 60?

Ocampans squirt out kids from their shoulder blades when they reach about 3 and they die at nine. So that means that kes's father had been born just over 4 years before kes met Voyagers crew, but her grandparents were born 7 years before v...2363, great grandparents 2360, great great grand parents 2357, great great great great grand parents 2354, great great hreat great great grandparents 2351, and Harry kim, Wesley Crusher and kes' great great great great great great Grand parents were all born in 2349...Of course that's if the gestation period isn't longer than a few weeks. :)

Oh. Had a thought. Above is based on the idea that Kes's dad died early when he was 4, since Kes said that her dad died near her first birthday, but what if he didn't die prematurely? What if the natural state of things on Ocampa is that 8 year old males conceive children with 3 year old females, that paedophilia is the only way that they can have kids if the lads don't actually mature biologically sexually, and emotionally sexually till they're one foot in the grave? She might just be hard wired to dig old guys.

Which would screw the hell up about all those numbers up there.

The soul searching and agonizing Neelix spent thinking about whether he could raise a child till it was an adult and ready to date some one as old or older than him 10 months to a year down the line is just silly.... Of course, how do you tell Kes that her child with Neelix might have lived 5 times longer than she would if she maintained a corporal aspect?

Madness, complete and utter madness!

Of the four, I would be the most compatible with Janeway. However, none of them would be my pick if the pool were expanded.

Kes, I think. Though I really like Torres as well... maybe I could pull a reverse-Before-and-After-Tom-Paris?

What? :shifty:

Oh, you mean that's a bastard thing to say? Oh... :(

:p

I liked Kes out of all the choices presented because she has all the traits I love in a woman. Intelligence, a great personality, and beauty.

However if Tal Celes was on the list of choices I would have voted for her ahead of Kes.

Janeway, despite the age gap :D.

Kes is too young, Seven of Nine would grate, Torres is too Klingon....
