Picture lovers, I just added a Spock shot I'd been looking for. :)

An Officer, you new avi is scrumptious. ;) Nice location line, too.
I suspect my wife would pick Dr. McCoy/Urban- guess I'll steer her to this thread and find out.

Just curious, ladies- would you pick Artemus/Ross Martin or Jim West/Conrad?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058855/

My wife had a thing for Ross Martin, who I would bin as more McCoy-like- she always had a thing for the more serious, thinking/opinionated types (like me ;) )

The cool thing is I look more like Urban (at least when my weight is under control :D )
Thank you.

And Robert Conrad's Jim West is what made me aware as a young girl that men could look

in tight pants, especially from behind. So I would pick Jim West/Conrad although my fave here is McCoy/Urban.

I am a big fan of all of them. I just finished watching the whole series again on DVD. I hadn't seen it since I watched it first run on CBS.

My history with those two parallels my history with Kirk and Spock. When I was a teenager, I went for the sensitive types (Spock and Artemus).

But when I came of age, I realized the smart libido was on the power guy. ;) I am a particular fan of both Jims.

Two for the price of one Kirk episodes, WINNING formula! I guess that's why the did it so often:
Mirror universe Kirk
Weak Kirk versus strong Kirk
And of course your robot Kirk
Maybe there was one more?

Thanks! Somehow, I think I'm really going to enjoy re-reading my posts from now on... :p

Nice, back or front.

Wow, you're good!

I like the way they keep their bruises and cuts throughout the movie. Even Sulu keeps his banged-up face from the drill platform fight.
That is one of the things I liked too. It was more gritty and realistic.
I read where Abrams said he wanted sets, locations and everything to look as real as possible; use CGI just where needed. It really adds to the real human and real Earth quotient, so that we can feel like it's our real future.

He's one fab director, looks like he put his all into this. Any weaknesses in the movie, what little there is, stem from the script not the direction. I even liked the lens glare. :D

I would love Tony Scott to direct the next one - it would be one giant wank - like Top Gun. :D

Yeah, I hope fans' criticisms don't put the chill on him on that score; I like them, too. He talked about the lens flares in that same interview. He said it was part of the real look he wanted, as though people were using real cameras of the 1960's. And that's why he filmed it in 35 mm, too.

^^ I did that too, but after I made this thread, I felt sorry I had disrupted men's consultation of each other since I ask all men not to vote here... unless it's really too frustrating for them, okay. I suppose if you can honestly admit attraction for either one (or the 3) as worded in the poll question, you're entitled to vote. ;)

Crusher Disciple, it's confusing isn't it, when you're no longer sure what thread you're in. :D
I could have lived with this just being a poll with little posting since a lot of posting on the topic(s) was already under way in other threads. But this one has slightly different dynamics.

Cool back and front pictures, thanks. Although my memory of Conrad's butt in well-lit colour is just fine. It's like John Barrowman in the hub without the coat: the way his derrière catches the light...

I don't understand this "real look"...real look for whom? Aren't we the viewers supposed to be like flies on the wall? Or LOL are we on the brige holding a camera...?? To me it makes no sense to include it...the flares didn't bother me at all, but I still don't understand the reasoning for it.

Do you think poll threads can be merged?

About lens flares, honestly, I didn't notice them. And I'm sure less people would notice them if there hadn't been so much buzz about it.

That's interesting, Cakes488. Yes, the concept of real is so corrupted in filmmaking. Still, I do understand what Abrams means - and appreciate the efforts. It gives Trek a slightly different visual signature, and I like that...

Reckon he wants to be an "Auteur" director? With signature moves ala Hitchcock and modern day Scorcese... He has a fair way to go if THAT is what he's aiming for. Good start though.
