Based on LighteningStorm's comments here:

this poll should be okay. Besides, while I'm not the OP of the other thread I am intrigued...

There should beone that says HELL NO!

This millitant Janeway fanaticism is totally uncalled for and really irritating. There are those of ous out there that are enjoying the new direction that really find the constant bitching and moaning rather childish.

No. While I probably wouldn't have killed her in the first place, bringing her back after the fact, especially just to appease a few internet complainers, would be a huuuuuge mistake dramatically speaking.

No. If you've got the cahones to kill off a major character, have the stones to leve them dead.

Killing her off was a "huge" dramatic mistake, keeping her dead only prolongs that mistake, two wrongs don't make a right.

I'm rather demanding, I expect; I want her brought back, and I want it done in a story good enough to make even the failings of Before Dishonor seem justifiable (if, indeed, such a thing is possible).

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

I could not possibly disagree more. Killing off Janeway was the gutsiest move Pocket Trek has ever made and and has huuuge dramatic potential. Certainly more than the "Adventures of the Admiral sitting behind the desk" or creating some lame re-set putting her back in the captain's chair ala Kirk. And, honstely, thanks to Nemesis, those were the obvious options.

For my money, I was done, done, done with Voyager lit until Janeway's death. Now I'm looking forward to the next Voyager book in a way that I never looked forward to the show.

And for those who say, "what if it were your favorite character?"-- I would say the exact same thing. These aren't real people here, and good drama is good drama. Period.

i would agree with this to a point. while i can see a major character being killed off would add to the dramatic appeal to a story i don't think (in this case) it should have been done to a character who had just begun her literary trek (sorry for the pun). both kirk and picard have had many wonderful adventures in the literary realm. even sisko has had more adventures even though he wasn't present for many DS9 novels. it just seems that janeway was killed off a little too quickly. that's my only beef with it. if she was destined to die, couldn't it have waited a few more years and novels? and i was actually hoping she'd leave the admiralty and return to being a captain a la kirk. it's not like anyone else in trek has done that (that i am aware of).

I liked Janeway. It pissed me off when she got killed. I could give a damn *how* they bring her back, I only care *that* they do.

Agreed. I had no intention of ever reading another Voyager book, but hearing about the events in Before Dishonor piqued my interest. Until then, I had lapsed in reading any Trek outside of the DS9 Relaunch. Since then, I've gone back and caught up on all of the Titan and TNG novels I had missed.

I say keep her dead.

We've already had four VERY long threads about this issue and I certainly don't think another thread is warranted or justified. I think it's pointless to keep the game going.

Janeway is one of Star Trek's main characters and also one of the best characters. It was a horrible mistake to kill her off in the first place so please correct that.
