Should Janeway be brought back?

The real crew of Voyager is the crew we saw in the TV series.

What's the point in making a book series and call it a "Voyager Relaunch" if hardly anyone of the crew from the series is present and the main character is killed off? In that case, why not come up with an entirely new series with new characters instead and leave the original characters to the fan fiction writers.

If I had been someone who recently has become a Voyager fan after watching some re-run of the series and then bought a book to read more about my new favorites only to discover that the main character is killed off and the favorites from the TV series are shattered over the whole universe, then I would have gone back to the bookstore, returned the book and asked for my money back.

Lynx, my friend, you've said this over and over and over and over. Kirsten Beyer herself has come onto several threads and re-iterated the fact that everyone who got home to the AQ will be in Full Circle. When it's done, all we know for sure is that Janeway is dead and Tuvok is on the Titan. Everyone else is still in the game, at least in some fashion, plus some other new characters will also be kicking around. All the relaunches have new people, not just Voyager. You need a new tune dude...People are going to start not taking you seriously...

Well, I only explained what I meant with the "real crew" and my opinion about "bogus Voyager".

To be honest, maybe I can live with some of the changes, even if I would prefer to have the "real crew" back together. In fact, I actually wrote a story which I tried to adapt to what was going on in the "relaunch" at that time.

But when they start to kill off main characters, then they can count me out.

Not to mention that I've actually proposed a solution where they bring the old team together for some mission in the Delta Quadrant. Of course some fans were against it, stating things like "now whys should they be sent back to the Delta Quadrant" and such. Now there's rumors that Voyager is going back to the Delta Quadrant-with a new crew! I can't help being annoyed.

It's hard to change tune when you're dissatisfied. :(

^Who said anything about a new crew? Maybe some of the "extras" will be fleshed out more (like Lyssa Campbell), but it's not a new senior staff as far as i've heard or read. Just a different captain and no Tuvok. As far as we know, that's it.

Most of the main characters--Chakotay, Kim, Paris, B'Elanna--were either on the ship as of Destiny or were on it until recently. Admiral Janeway was off bing an admiral on Earth, Tuvok is on Titan, and Seven of Nine is on Earth at Stafleet Academy. The Doctor's fate is an open question.

As for calling it a Voyager relaunch, why not? The ship is still there and much of the original crew is still on board. It's a direct continuation of the series, as established in the relaunch novels to date.

It's been, what, eight years now since the end of the series, and Janeway got killed six years later. Enough time has been allotted for change. Should all of the novels be written in the first to third seasons to keep Kes in play?

That could be interesting. Where did you hear the rumours?

One problem with this, apart from the fact that Voyager has done its explorations of the Delta Quadrant and going back to doing that would be repetitive, is the question of how Voyager would get there. Slipstream drive is still being worked on by the Federation, and the Vesta-class ships were the only ones equipped. Without slipstream, Voyager can't get to the Delta Quadrant in any reasonable amount of time.

^^ It's the tech that was successfully tested on the Aventine and other Vesta-class ships, yes, which in turn was brought back to the Alpha Quadrant by Voyager.

In A Singular Destiny, three of the ships that will accompany Voyager back to the Delta Quadrant are being upgraded with slipstream drive.

Kes is missing, Neelix is missing, The Doc is missing, Tuvok is missing, Seven is missing and Janeway (who was the main character of the TV series) is killed off. Six out of ten.

So much for the "Voyager" relaunch.

No, the timeline for events in seasons 1-3 is strained already.

But why not try to get the old gang together for possible adventures in the Delta Quadrant instead of sending the bogus crew there?

As a very wise man once said, "That would be illogical".

Kes is missing, Neelix is missing

Think about where the ship is going?

The Doc is missing

You sure about that? Read Full Circle have you?

Tuvok is missing

Yep.

Seven is missing

and Janeway (who was the main character of the TV series) is killed off.

This is why I can't take you seriously, at least half of your "facts" come straight from your head. You have the right to bitch and cry about what's happened but you are just making shit up at this stage about the events of full circle. You are moaning about the direction that Full Circle has taken when it's clear you don't have a clue what's actually in it.

Because they spent the seven seasons of the show trying to escape from the Delta Quadrant to their homes in the Federation?

In assuming that the crew of Voyager would want to leave the Federation to go to the quadrant that they escaped from--the entire crew of Voyager, mind--you're not treating Voyager's characters like real human beings. Of course they're going to want to do things--work on other ships, say, or at Starfleet Command, or something else--that they couldn't do during their exile.

(There's also the non-trivial question of how they'd get there given the state of Starfleet propulsion technology, but never mind.)

Where in A Singular Destiny does it say that Voyager will be going back to the Delta Quadrant, as opposed to the Vesta-class starships?
