Pocket's '08 -'09 schedule - LOTS of new covers!

Is it Martin and Mangels writing The Romulan War again - or just Martin? Eitherway, much as I like them and their writing, I'm a tad concerned about them writing the third novel too. I'm worried it will turn into the VOY Relaunch with one writer helming control and turning it into their vision which could disgruntle some fans. IMHO, the reason the DS9 Relaunch, Titan and Vanguard work so very well is because they're written by multiple authors who each contribute their own style and feel to the series.

You know, I wish I was so caught up on my ST reading that I could "worry" about ST books coming out in 2009-2020. That's Marco, Margaret and Paula's jobs.

Keep in mind that, by the time these books come out, a lot of life is going to pass us by. ;)

Well, I don't read all of the books. I read Vanguard, DS9 Relaunch, TNG Relaunch, Titan and the Enterprise Relaunch - and will resume with the VOY Relaunch when Full Circle debuts. I finished Fearful Symmetry last night, so I'm just waiting for Greater than the Sum to turn up - and have dispatches notices to my spies in the local bookstore to let me know when it turns up.

My list of future purchases.

Star Trek: The Original Series - ERRAND OF FURY: SACRIFICES OF WAR
Star Trek: The Original Series - MERE ANARCHY
Star Trek: Vanguard - OPEN SECRETS
Star Trek: The Original Series - IMPROBABLE MINDS
Star Trek: Vanguard - TBA
Star Trek: The Original Series - THE MILLENNIUM BLOOM
Star Trek: The Original Series - THE UNSPOKEN TRUTH

Not too bad.
After the discussion regarding novels, I retract this list.
Trek lit just isn't that important to fret or argue about.
I'll speak with my wallet instead just like I do with Star Wars = $0.
Thanks for making me finally come to terms with this Therin!
I'll just stick to the occasional comic here and there.
And the new movie.

Wait, so, because Therein pointed out to you that not getting references in a book doesn't diminish the experience, you've decided to not buy any more novels, despite praising loudly the fact that in your opinion Vanguard did it perfectly? I'm confused.

Gosh, my apologies Star Trek novel writers. Looks like I managed to scare away one of your customers by disputing his disdain of Easter eggs in ST novels?

Guess I'll have to buy two of everything due in 2009 and 2010 now...

Maybe there's still time? Eradicate all Easter eggs now!

Now here is a good example of maturity shining through! I see no need to take issue with Ian just because he disagrees with you. I do agree that Star Trek books are not worth fretting or arguing over but I didn't see either happening and Ian was just trying to be helpful and perhaps change your perspective so you could appreciate the books more. Just like many other things in life people have differences of opinions. It seems you have a very strange perspective and philosophy toward life and what dictates your actions. Maybe that will change as you get older!

And people wonder why most authors don't worry too much about what they read on the internet. Here lies madness ;)

Any official announcement yet as to why Micheal Martin is writing the Enterprise Romulan wars novel solo yet?

Andy said there would be an announcement in a few days and could we avoid speculation, that was last week. We're still waiting.

You won't get away with your scary truth-telling that easily! Quick, somebody go fetch the painsticks--it's gauntlet time.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

It's time to whip out an old classic:

^^OMG:rommie:
That is good! I have nothing else to add about this anymore. Too many people have expressed my feelings on the subject.

Oh, come on, guys. Don't you think that's a bit OTT and mean - the guys perfectly entitled to his opinion and he has the right not to buy any more Trek novels if he doesn't want to, whatever his reasons.

OTT... definitely. Mean? No, the intention isn't to be mean. It's point out that this drama and this whole "I'm picking up my ball and leaving" attitude, all that kid stuff... well, it's a bit silly. So I'm having a little bit of fun with it.
