Plinkett gets REVENGE

I thought you couldn't download from youTube.
You can't directly download from Youtube, but there are plenty of programs that allow you to download flash videos from sites like youtube. I personally use a Firefox extension called Download Helper.

It will let you download files in the flv flash format, which most DVD players can't play, but various computer media players such as VLC or Media Player Classic can. You can also download a conversion program for Download Helper that will let you covert the files to other video formats, or just download a standalone program to do that. You would have to do a Google search for your DVD player to see what video formats it can play.

keepvid.com, cough, does *not* let you save .mov files without any installation at all, cough. ;)

Oh Gaith you &%$#@$@#%!!!!!

I misread your post and saw it as "heeeeerrrrrreeee it is!!!!"

I was just thinking about phoning in for a sickie at work so I could watch it!!!!

But I double your frustration - I am GAGGING for this. I probably hate Revenge of the Shit even more because fanboys drool over TEH LIGHTSAVER BATTELS!!!!! and GENERAL GREEBUS's's's eighteen LITESAVERS!!!!!

God.

It is just SO fucking awful. Add to that Natalie Portman dying of a broken heart because she lost creepy n'sync lookalike guy? What, her two new babies weren't enough incentive to live?

I am looking forward to the brilliant Plinkett EVISCERATING this steaming pile of shit.

I know! Sorry! :)

The RLM web site does have an update from a few days ago, where they say they tried to get a cameo from Tommy Wiseau for the review... but seriously, it's been too long; a teaser trailer should precede the review by a month, tops. :p

For what it's worth, ROTS is my favorite Star Wars film (though I still think ESB is the best-made of the series), because of the film's emotional journey (rousing hero-adventure overture to grim, apocalyptic finale). To me, the best scene of the film is Obi-Wan's line to Padmé, "I'm so sorry" (with the swell of JW's score behind it). It's like he's apologizing for the entire fall of the Republic on top of the personal tragedy of Anakin. It's freaking powerful ...

... if you're not overly distracted by the obvious faults of the film. :techman:

Oh, and I can't wait for Plinkett's review, either. As much as his voice annoys the ever-loving-frak out of me, his insights and comments are still hilarious.

It says something about the fucking prequels that this preview got me more excited than anything to do with the actual movies themselves.

God Plinkett rules!

Yes, he does. Plinkett has to be, without a doubt, my favorite online reviewer. I can't get enough.

Eh. I'll take The Nostalgia Critic, The Nostalgia Chick, Todd in the Shadows, and Linkara.

I agree, Trek XI is a better Star Wars film than ROTS. Heck many of the Clone Wars cartoon 3-episode arcs would make better films. Believe me, I've no delusions about the overall quality of ROTS. Nor will I even bother attempting to refute the many valid criticisms leveled at the film. I mostly agree with them. Still, if I had to choose just one Star Wars film that I could watch, I'd pick ROTS. Besides, at this point, it's almost more fun liking the film simply because it gets so much criticism.

Emotional Journey? You mean when the man who has been a murderous douchebag for two movies already, GASP!, turns to the dark side?

Eh. I'll take The Nostalgia Critic, The Nostalgia Chick, Todd in the Shadows, and Linkara.

Critic and Linkara are awesome! (Not a fan of The Chick, never heard of Shadows) throw in Spoony and The Angry Video Game Nerd you've got a heck of an Angry Internet Popular Culture Critic package!

Todd in the Shadows is top-tier. He's the pop music guy. Great gimmick, rather talented musician, incredibly tight scripts and almost pitch-perfect performance. He puts quite a few of the more established TGWTG staff to shame.

Ah, okay. I'm not a huge fan of music so that explains it. I like the more pop-culture stuff TGWTG and AVGN do.

Eh, no. The emotional crux of the film (for me, anyway) doesn't rest on the act of Anakin turning to the Dark Side ... which isn't handled particularly well at all ... it's the repercussions of his actions. Despite his murderous transgressions in AOTC, by the time ROTS begins, he'd managed to at least partially mitigate his mistakes through his actions in the Clone Wars (or at least we're meant to infer that he has). I think there's genuine tragedy in watching a flawed person trying to atone for their misdeeds ... only to fall further the harder they try.

That's not to say that ROTS is entirely successful with telling its story, and I certainly don't expect many people to agree with me on the matter. But I do see an emotional arc in the film. It's an unabashed melodrama -- one that works for me, even in spite of its flaws.

Well, he's on TGWTG these days. Or do you mean specifically Doug Walker? (God knows there are about fifty people on that site now, half of whom I ignore.)

I'm not a huge music person either, but I'd say he's definitely worth a try.

I've not watched a whole lot of Spoony or any of AVGN aside from his crossovers with the Critic. Like you with pop music, I guess video game reviews just aren't as appealing.

Doesn't get much more pop-culture than pop music, eh? ;) I agree with Myasishchev, definitely worth a try.

I think pretty much all of Star Wars is rubbish, but the Battle over Coruscant is the best thing it ever did. I'd probably take Episode III over most of the original trilogy, just because it's nice to look at. Because it's all fucking rubbish really.
