Playstation 3 Technical question

Okay if you buy a Playstation 3 from the US and buy a Playstation 3 game from say Great Britain can you play the game on the PS3 from the US?

As far as I know there is no region coding for games, but there are certain region issues outside of games themselves...

Well what about Australia do you if theirs has a similar problem?

According to the article I quoted, the games are region free which means they are interchangable worldwide. The only trouble related to NTSC/PAL issues for standard definition output.
