Since I can’t imagine that it makes assembly cheaper, it has to be a child safety requirement. The old ship seems to have 10 screws, the new one somehow needs 22![]()
Yeah, and I'm not liking the unpainted underside of the new saucer at all. it's like they cut corners to reduce the cost or figured customers wouldn't mind that. The old one’s saucer is a tad wider I think
Or get the Diamond Select one. It's (IMHO) better than either of those. It's not perfect of course, but better.Yes, it seems combining the two would make the perfect model![]()
How do more screws make it safer?Since I can’t imagine that it makes assembly cheaper, it has to be a child safety requirement.
Very different price, very ugly neck.Or get the Diamond Select one. It's (IMHO) better than either of those. It's not perfect of course, but better.![]()
Please note that the suggestion was made in specific response to being able to somehow combine the two Playmates versions. The Diamond version was about the same price when it came out, so between time travel and the ability to merge two physical objects, I'll take time travel.very ugly neck.
The lighting is nice, but the lack of paint on the bottom of the saucer and the secondary hull, as well as the lack of a clear red impulse engine is a real eye-sore. If it had those, it would have been unstoppable.
Presumably more difficult to come apart and let swallowable bits out of the insides if dropped. How do more screws make it safer?
Hey, how often does a toy version of concept art get made?It would be funny if they released the First Contact E-E with the different looking nacelles and secondary hull.
If it's Star Wars actually quite often. They did a whole "Alpha Series" line with Action Fleet, concept art action figures of MacQuarrie's concepts of Han, Chewie, Obi-Wan, Vader and Yoda, as well as Hot Wheels of concept X-Wings, TIE Fighters, and the Millenium Falcon.Hey, how often does a toy version of concept art get made?
I had two MicroMachines playsets that came with an Original Trilogy vehicle and a smaller version of said vehicle based on Ralph McQuarry's art. I had the X-wing and AT-AT. Great 90s toys. But for Star Trek, I don't think that ever happened intentionally until the Eaglemoss models (which aren't really toys). If it's Star Wars actually quite often. Well, you asked the question about concept art toys being made.I had two MicroMachines playsets that came with an Original Trilogy vehicle and a smaller version of said vehicle based on Ralph McQuarry's art. I had the X-wing and AT-AT. Great 90s toys. But for Star Trek, I don't think that ever happened intentionally until the Eaglemoss models (which aren't really toys).
I wasn't antagonized by your post. It just reminded me of those toys. But yeah, nothing like that for Trek aside from the Playmates Enterprise-E.Well, you asked the question about concept art toys being made.
Sadly, no, Star Trek doesn't get the Star Wars toy treatment.![]()
