Plasmatic thrust?

Looks like a plasma deflector with a bunch of beads around it. I drew one on a ship. I think there's been some species with them. I was under the impression it was to accelerate further in warp field for above warp 10.

Warp ten is so fast that any destination in the universe is zero time, instantaneous arrivial.

So why have "above" warp ten?

They've changed the scale, and therefore what each Warp speed meant. It was the 24th century scale that identified Warp 10 as infinite velocity.

TOS used speeds over 10. At some future point, Warp 20 might need to become the "holy grail" of infinite speed.

technically any FTL travel or communication allows for time travel/causation paradoxes but we must always try to forget that, watching Trek :D
