I live in Maryland and I want to plant a 2x5 test patch of Dutch Clover in my backyard. I think mowing lawns is absolutely idiotic and wasteful. Also, the bees needs our help! And Dutch Clover is a good way to help them. Dutch Clover tips would be welcome as well.
That stuff used to grow in patches all over our lawns when I were a lad. Dandelions too. I didn't know it made a good alternative lawn.
From what I've read it grows no more than 6-8inches and you can mow it too if you really can't give up your mowing addiction.
I usually look up the Heritage plant book for determining right conditions. I'll see if I can find it after work.
