I currently have a 2001 Toyota RAV4 L 4WD
I bought this car used in the fall of 2003, it had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it, now it has 86,000, so I've put on around 56,000 miles to it since then.
I paid $16,000 for it then, it was a bit more pricey cause I made sure to get the 4 wheel drive version, and I looked up the VIN to make sure it was manufactured in Japan.
This is the 3rd car I've owned in my lifetime. I only ow 5 more months on the loan and then the car will be paid off and I will own it. After I get it paid off this year I will not be getting another. I will relish in not having a car payment anymore, and I will drive this car into the ground before I get another car! I take good care of it though, regular maintenance.
I got the L version, which is the model loaded with features, including moonroof. I made sure to get the 4 wheel drive version also because when I bought it I knew I was going to be moving up into the mountains at some point in my life, and I was right. It has paid off living up here now, had absolutely no trouble in the snow this past winter, car drives through snow easily and gets me where I need to go, love it. I like just going out on real snowy days and playing around 4 wheelin in it, much fun.
These pictures below were taken when I bought the car way back then. I haven't really changed anything except I got much better tires on it recently. IOh, and I also replaced both the headlights, casing and all. If you notice, they are a little foggy in these shots, but I got brand new ones for it, so now they are shiny and clear. I do plan to do a little bit more to it as well. I want to replace the factory radio with a navigation unit. I have the room for a nice big dual-slot unit with touchscreen and all, so I want to get one of those and then hook up a better speaker system as well. Other than that, its just taking care of it and keeping it working solid.

And here is the car I had previous to the RAV4, a 1993 Toyota Celica GT. See those rims on it? I ordered those special from a guy who got those 16" rims off of the newer 2000 Celica, the newer design, and put them on this Celica for a nice new slick look. I also modded the headlights, took out the factory ones and put in some PIAA HID headlights, and fog lights.
