Picture This On Wheels!

2009bugattiveyrongrands.jpg

I'll have this one, if I may: the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.
the Veyron is certainly a triumph of engineering, but I still think it looks like a melted jelly bean or a soggy bar of soap :D

I'd take one of these any day over the Veyron

for me it's not about power, speed, or handling, but how a car makes you feel
most newer cars, to me, feel like appliances . . .
stove, fridge, dishwasher, minivan, crossover, sport activity lifestyle vehicle meh
but when I look at classic cars I get nostalgic for a time before I was born. I see rolling works of art that demand care and attention. Newer cars just say to me 'if it breaks I'll just get another.'
I dunno . . . cars were still adventurous back then. You could drive for the fun of it. Now it seems like the enjoyment of simply driving is fading away with the rise of parking assist technology, GPS, automatic cruise control, and just about any other acronym you can think of.
It feels like we're losing the importance of the journey over the destination.

 But it has attitude! I agree, it's not particularly pretty when it comes to nice lines and presence, but there's something about it that shouts: "I don't care! I can still kick anyone's tailpipe!" ;)

Ditto. BTW, that's a damn sexy Lexus, jkladis

Here's my '07 Chevy Silverado

Here's my "taking up more than one spot" shot :)

I so wanted my dad to get that truck when he was truck shopping two years ago. He ended up getting a Nissan Titan, which is awesome, but i would have loved it had he gotten a Chevy. Oh well. RIP GM.

I know, i'm being rather alarmist. And i really hope that they can pull themselves out of this. It's a shame that in the past, GM has gotten this horrible reputation of unreliability. I mean, when my dad and i were looking for a new car for me, he flat out told me not to buy American. So i got a Nissan.

Mine is a 2000 and is still running like new. Those cars are great when it comes to longevity.

I just want my 1963 Corvette.

:luvlove:

With the 396 or the optional 427 cid. and side pipes?

Great choice, young Padawan.... you are wise beyond your years.....

This is my car after I washed her last time:

'99 Saab 9-5, 2.0t with sports package and tune which leads to me having 192hp and being the highest performing 9-5 of that model years since while it had less hp then the V6 but it was lighter. Also means it's got a nice grunt in it :D It's got 160k miles on her, always starts and I love her to bits. Also got a little detail shot here:

Yes I know she's got rust patches. Haven't had the money to fix her up :(

As for my dream car it should come as no surprise:

The new Chevrolet Camaro SS, with that exact package, color and some black rally stripes :D Also a must is a manual transmission and the rumbling LS3 under the hood!

And this is the car my brother and I while get for our dad when he turns 60 in 2018 (if we have the money):

1968 Dodge Charger R/T. Gonna try and find one with the vinyl roof like in Bullitt though.
I'd rather take the Camaro.
Well chosen :techman:

And Flux, I still love your truck.

I currently have a 2001 Toyota RAV4 L 4WD

I bought this car used in the fall of 2003, it had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it, now it has 86,000, so I've put on around 56,000 miles to it since then.

I paid $16,000 for it then, it was a bit more pricey cause I made sure to get the 4 wheel drive version, and I looked up the VIN to make sure it was manufactured in Japan.

This is the 3rd car I've owned in my lifetime. I only ow 5 more months on the loan and then the car will be paid off and I will own it. After I get it paid off this year I will not be getting another. I will relish in not having a car payment anymore, and I will drive this car into the ground before I get another car! I take good care of it though, regular maintenance.

I got the L version, which is the model loaded with features, including moonroof. I made sure to get the 4 wheel drive version also because when I bought it I knew I was going to be moving up into the mountains at some point in my life, and I was right. It has paid off living up here now, had absolutely no trouble in the snow this past winter, car drives through snow easily and gets me where I need to go, love it. I like just going out on real snowy days and playing around 4 wheelin in it, much fun.

These pictures below were taken when I bought the car way back then. I haven't really changed anything except I got much better tires on it recently. IOh, and I also replaced both the headlights, casing and all. If you notice, they are a little foggy in these shots, but I got brand new ones for it, so now they are shiny and clear. I do plan to do a little bit more to it as well. I want to replace the factory radio with a navigation unit. I have the room for a nice big dual-slot unit with touchscreen and all, so I want to get one of those and then hook up a better speaker system as well. Other than that, its just taking care of it and keeping it working solid.

---------------

And here is the car I had previous to the RAV4, a 1993 Toyota Celica GT. See those rims on it? I ordered those special from a guy who got those 16" rims off of the newer 2000 Celica, the newer design, and put them on this Celica for a nice new slick look. I also modded the headlights, took out the factory ones and put in some PIAA HID headlights, and fog lights.

I don't have any pics of my current ride, a 2001 Chevy S-10. I don't have any pics of the car I had before that and dearly miss, a 1982 Buick Riviera. However, I do have pics of one almost exactly like my old Riviera...

I will have another like her one day, come Hell and High Water.
