I went to the Syracuse Auto Show this past weekend. We're looking to purchase a new car and the auto show is the best place to look at a bunch of cars without the hassle of dealing with a car salesperson. It wasn't packed with people like the NYC Auto Show always is but there were no concept cars or other goodies rom automakers. I was able to whittle down our choice do cars here and now we know which car we will buy.

I was able to see the new corvette in person, what a beautiful car.

Saw RoJos beers, got thirsty, remembered I still have some of the bottles I got for x-mas from my x-brother-in-law, thought I should perhaps post the picture I took:

They're all from Refsvindinge (site in Danish).

The brewery has something they call 'Beer, Bed & Breakfast' where you come to a tasting (with optional dinner) and then can stay in a small hut to sober up before you leave the next day

Fantastic work, Kes! I have a hard time with interior shots, but your 3rd & 5th photos make it look easy (they look cozy and welcoming)! Your landscapes are gorgeous (especially the 4th & 7th shots). And the 9th image looks romantic!

Kestra, your photos are awesome. That gravestone photo reminds me of one I took in Illinois two years ago of a gravestone of similar vintage...

Those landscape and tombstone pictures are stunning, Kes. I love the composition of and detail in them. I especially like the shadows of you and your companion in the lower right corner of that one shot - did you plan that one or was it just an accident, because it actually looks great including your outlines in the image.

Thanks! Interior shots are definitely tricky, but these places were too charming not to try. I've learned a lot of things I shouldn't do when taking pics, but it's so much fun to have so many opportunities for photos.

That's gorgeous! I've been fascinated by so many of the graves here. The stones vary greatly in shape and size. I think I could spend a lot of time just taking photos in a graveyard. Where in Illinois did you take that?

Oops, sorry, I am currently in England! The pics are from Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and the Lake District.

It was a little of both. I was looking through my camera to see what I could capture when I noticed our shadows. My first instinct was to avoid them, but then I decided to just take a pic exactly as we were. I think I like it as a reminder of the walk, because it's not just about the scenery but also that I had someone to share it with. Yorkshire was very bleak at times but had some of my favorite scenery.

Would you mind sharing a little of your thought process when doing those interior shots? I know it's sometimes difficult to put a creative process into words, but I'd be interested in whatever insight you have to composing those shots.

Oh goodness, it wasn't anything in particular. I had seen that dessert menu and knew I wanted to include it in a shot. There was a fireplace in the room but after looking through my camera I decided that since there were posts on either side of the fireplace, that would have been too cramped of a shot. So I just set the menu off to one side, made it my focus, and took a picture!

Yeah, I completely agree, cooleddie. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Kes! I love hearing about how others go about taking their photos, especially when the results are this good. I like how the main focus is the menu, but that it's off to the side, too. I think that helps keep the photos more open-yet-cozy.

That was taken in the cemetery in Littleton, IL while we were there burying my Dad in Spring 2012. Littleton is about midway between Rushville and Macomb. We also found a stone there dating to 1792, but it was pretty broken up and hard to read.

I also find gravestones to be pretty interesting. Whenever I'm in a graveyard, I try to find the oldest one, the most ornate, etc. On that trip, I took photos of about or so, but most of those were because they were for grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, etc.

Some pictures of a water castle that is just five minutes away by car from my place. Friends of mine celebrated their wedding there a few years back.

The tree reminds me of Game of Thrones. I've got no idea why they painted it white but it has been like that for years now.
