PICTURE POST II!

But first...let me take a selfie.

We're in Albany for a meeting and last night went to a private 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing held in the restaurants penthouse dining room. The food was beyond amazing, really felt privilege to participate.

I live about 20 miles from Albany in Schenectady, been there tons of times.

Here I am about 1986 being a dumb goof.

Of course, you gotta love They Might Be Giant's ode to The Egg.

Up is up! I was thinking how it might be disorienting to other people though. He's on top of an armoire that's almost up against the wall, but not quite. He was sticking his head in the gap and being silly so I grabbed my camera and took a picture.

It's warmed up here so hopefully in the coming weeks I'll get a chance to go out and take pics of something other than my cat!

This was taken in December 2012. My parents treated my three brothers and I along with our families up to Wisconsin for four days.

One day, me, my brother and his wife and my dad drove an hour to the House on the Rock. My sister-in-law jumped up on this thing for a quick photo in front of this huge carousel that was inside. I'm extremely happy with how it turned out because it was such a quick picture that I didn't prepare for. I just took it in about five seconds.

I used to work in Schenectady, on Maxon Rd Ext.

I also used to play hockey at the Union College rink. There's some absolutely gorgeous-looking old houses there.

It's certainly disorienting (in a good way). Makes the photo interesting enough to have to spend more time with it, trying to figure out what's going on. (It doesn't hurt that Comet is so adorable, either!)

Good luck with your spring photos!

Yeah, that came out very well. Lots of fun!

I took these last week, while waiting for soccer practice to end:

Oh man, House on the Rock. I haven't been there in ages. What a crazy place! Where else in Wisconsin have you been? I'm in IL, but grew up fairly close to the border so have been to Wisconsin a fair amount.

Good luck with your spring photos!

Thanks! I love your action shot. So cute!

Speaking of the Moon we're going to have a lunar eclipse in a couple of days. It would be pretty cool to have a photo of the eclipse posted in the thread. We don't get many eclipse images around here from what I can recall.

The House on the Rock was a lot of fun! I loved not knowing what to expect from each room as we kept going. There's a lot of cool stuff in there.

I've been to Wisconsin Dells several times and I'm actually going to Milwaukee tomorrow for the Midwest Gaming Classic.

Where do you live in IL? I'm a little south of Chicago in Kankakee.

Have you been on the ducks? Or been to the Tommy Bartlett show or Exploratory? I used to love the Exploratory (used to be known as Robot World) when I was a kid. I also really like the more recent waterpark at Kalahari, don't know if you've been.

I live in Chicago itself now but I grew up in McHenry County and I still go there all the time.

Yes, I did go on the ducks once, it was really fun! I've also been to the Ripley's Museum that they have up there.

I love Chicago! I've visited so many times since I was a kid. I actually briefly (very briefly) attended Columbia College back in 2003. About the only positive thing about that brief stint was commuting to Chicago three times a week.

I gotta go back to Chicago. Last time I was there it was Opening Day 2011 and I froze my ass off. Plus I didn't get to see much of the city itself. Must rectify this.

Yeah, Chicago's a great city. It's the sort of thing that's easy to take for granted until you move somewhere else. I feel really lucky to live here.

Since we were talking about the ducks and this is the picture thread, here are some old pics.

Duck Dock!

My sister sitting with my grandfather and I'm in the back with my dad here. The couple across from us were basically like grandparents to us.

I'm in the ridiculous pigtails here, with my sis and a family friend.

Here's my pictures from when we went in 2008:

This is the type that we rode, right in front of Mt. Olympus.
